as i've unpacked my boxes, i've come accross things that i don't need/want anymore, but are still quite usable.
i will post them to craigslist or freecycle next week or the week after, but i thought i'd offer them here first. i don't think any of them are saleable, but they do *work*.
first generation iMac -- i was going to donate this to a guy i know in Cambridge who refurbishes computers for schools -- but i did not have time to wipe eveything off of it prior to donation. i also have two mac keyboards for it. the mouse is dead. if you would like it, or better yet, know of a child/teen in need of a servicable computer for school (it will do quite well for internet stuff, writing, and light graphics and such) please do let me know.
drafting chair -- this is like a desk chair, but it's base height is higher than the base height of most chairs. most chairs are about 18", and this one is about 30". it adjusts to higher heights too. has a foot rest and casters. only a little duct tape :) comfy!
drill, with cord-- this was given to me when my stepfather upgraded. i've had it for about 10 years, and prior to that, he had it for at least 20. it's very heavy and loud, but it's a work horse. i would not use it for building things from scratch, but if you need to put up the occasional shelf, fix the odd cabinet-door, or what have you, it's perfect. no drill bits included. this is a corded drill. and it's *orange*!
feel free to forward this around. if you are in the Boston area, i hope to be up there sometime in September, and would be happy to bring you one of these items if you want it.
