Today a man I respect deeply, for the first time ever, has won the presidency.
When I was a little girl, I used to say that my mixed race heritage would make me the perfect presidential canidate. I'm glad to see that my six year old self was right.

I am so thankful and grateful right now. I feel we have turned the corner. That we are coming out of the long darkness, to dwell again, in the light.
The road is not over - it will be long and hard to get where we are going - but at last our feet our upon the road, the wind is at our backs, and I could not be filled with more pride and joy in my fellow Americans today.
