I'm happy despite being up at an unholy hour on a weekend, and despite being out of Silk for my morning cuppa joe. Now that's HAPPY.

Thanks for answering my question. Its encouraging, because the urge to make a material difference in the world is part of what is driving my desire to make a career change, so landscape architecture sounds good that way too.

Archeology is just too abstract and esoteric to really make me feel like I'm impacting the world at all, especially in a positive, growing way.

Getting a PhD in retirement would be a fun thing, I think, as a lot of pressure would be off. I sometimes ponder it as a "retirement plan" if there are still loan monies to be had at that point in the future.
