Other stuff we did on Leap Day

So, I left work yesterday at 1:00 to go meet midnightstation. We had decided to just run around and taste little food things all day. I went to my latest favorite blog, Eating in Translation's list "A Few NY Favorites", and had culled a short list of less expensive options. I tried to get them relatively spread out in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens ( Read more... )

Death & Co is right around the corner from this guy I'm dating's place. We talked about going there the last time I was up, and decided to go next time. Glad to hear it's as cool as we thought it might be.

It's pretty pricy - but it's all top shelf liquor and housemade syrups and the like. The food is good too :) It is also gorgeous inside. We've been twice and I will go back again. So far my favorite drink is the Buffalo Soldier.

That crepe place sounds AWESOME. Totally must go there.

There is a ramen house I went to in Chinatown that I can't go back to because I found out after the fact that nothing there is vegetarian. Including what I ate. Oops. :) But what I ate was SO GOOD that I like telling my non-vegetarian friends about it. :) I THINK it was at the other end of Pell Street from where Veggie Dim Sum House is. But I know it was at the corner of Bowery and either Pell or Bayard, about one or two doors in from Bowery. TOTALLY awesome food, and also really neat atmosphere. It's the kind of place that looks like they just picked the whole thing up out of Japan and dropped it in Chinatown.

Sometime we should get a group together to do a food tour type day like this. Maybe come up with an itinerary that would be veggie friendly and meat eater friendly. I'd love to wander around and try little nibbles all over the city. Sounds awesome.
