Today,
midnightstation and I took a half day at work and went around the city exploring and getting little bites of food to eat.
When we got to our home stop, he asked me if I would go to the drugstore for him while he went home to feed the cat and use the restroom. Of course, I said and off I went.
I had thought he might ask me to marry him today, but at the store I thought, "I guess not. My intuition SUCKS!"
I walked home, and it was snowing and I thought, "It snowed the night my mother brought me home from the hospital after my birth" and I turned into the building. Philippe the doorman was there and as I started to go by the fountain he said, "Look, isn't this beautiful" and I said, yes as it was full of floating candles on hearts and then I saw
midnightstation coming down the stairs. One of the floating things wasn't a candle - it was a sacred heart with a ring stuck into it so the ring stood up on end.
He got down on one knee and told me that he loved me, that I smoothed out his rough edges, and that he wanted me and that, for the rest of his life. And then he asked me to marry him, and I said yes.
I took a picture of the fountain, Philippe took pictures of us and then cried and hugged us. He has been here since I was just a little girl :)
midnightstation put the ring on me. And it's beautiful. It's perfect. And I could not have asked for a better and more perfect, here, in the home I grew up in, in the lobby which I played in, and who's beauty still takes my breath away.
I couldn't be happier.
