Travel medicine clinics?

Feb 09, 2012 11:44

Does anyone have a recommendation for a travel medicine clinic? I'm about to go on a long trip through Asia and need a bunch of shots and to have a discussion about malaria, and I feel slightly weird choosing a random clinic off Google.

My husband just went to this guy and declared him the best, most thoughtful, engaged doctor he's ever visited (which is saying a lot from a former hypochondriac): http://www.toddmcniff.com/Travel_Medicine.html

Dr Donald Kaminsky @ gramercy park physicians. He's a GP and an infections disease specialist. Absolutely love this guy, funny, and smart.

I got all my shots from him when i went to Cambodia. Be aware that insurance doesn't cover travel immunization and some infectious diseases take more than one shot. I think hep b takes 3 shots over 6 months, although one shot will give you some immunity. he'll review the areas your traveling to and give you the appropriate meds.
