Astoria People or People Willing to Come to Astoria?

Feb 10, 2011 23:05

I was chatting with a friend of mine from undergrad and realized how I haven't yet formed a core group of friends here to have a weekly dinner or brunch or whatever with the way I had in undergrad and grad school, so I thought I'd try to find some people here, if anyone's interested.

Looking for people in their 20s/30s who are open-minded (so no judgment about someone's orientation, weed use, one-night-stand habits, or whatever others choose to engage in), who are in a career area of their lives (not so much wanting to spend the meal focusing on someone's upcoming math test... been there, done that), and are ideally not people with children yet (since I know that's a life stage that tends to change people's perspectives).

Just thinking it'd be nice to find a small group of people who hang out regularly and reach a point where the friendships are strong enough that people celebrate milestones or call at 4am in the case of a heartbreak, where people can discuss life and where drama is low/non-existent.

Would ideally like to have a weekly or even every other weekly gathering in Astoria, maybe at the Applebee's on 35th Ave or Sanford's next to the Broadway stop off the N/Q line.

I just created an FB group for this http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_168065296574546
