doctor visit?

Last Friday, I spilled hot soup on my stomach and I burned the area pretty badly. I put gauze over it so it could absorb the pus from the blisters. Basically the patch of skin that I managed to burn is beat red and on top of it, there are huge blisters. depending on how bad the blisters are you may want to consider going to the dr for some silvidine dressing and antibiotics to prevent infection. Unfortunately if you dont' have insurance your look at about $300-$400 for the er charge and I'm not sure what the physician charge will be. There are payment plans you can get on though and hospitals are generally pretty flexible with payments.

that's just an estimate. you really shouldn't let your money determine whether or not you seek care. I say "flexible payment plans" loosely. as in you pay what you can. i'd rather be in debt a few hundred dollars than have an infected leg.

That is a very good point.

I guess I'll just have to deal.

Thanks for your help :]

go to Bellevue, they have a sliding scale policy and if you make no money, your bill could be as little as $0 or $20. They also have a pharmacy and will give you prescriptions right there, no need to pay up front for anything there.
