Holy crap, yeah. I'm pretty sure that's the new NYU dorm going up.

At least they didn't tear down the entire church facade-- I think that was part of the deal-- in order to build the huge monstrosity behind it, they had to leave the church facade in tact.

It is the new NYU dorm. The church was St. Ann's Catholic Church.

Wow, that is almost unbelievable. I cannot imagine moving into a dorm and being told of such odd restrictions.

Wow.. While I'm glad the front remains, I feel like I'm looking at a scene from a movie -- a fake building front propped up for appearances. I almost find it more depressing that only the front remains.

Still, it DOES make for a great photo concept.. ;P
