Vampires and Zombies; Undeath? Oh my!

Last night I hosted the Graveyard Girls for a movie night. We watched Dracula 2000 and Zombieland, the short film/beginning of Necrobeast Incorporated(?) ate pizza, and chatted about our writing. I let them borrow a few books (Borges, Unusual Suspects, Writing Down the Bones, and Bird by Bird, for personal reference), and we are planning to have a writing marathon sometime this month. I am tres excited!

Before they arrived, kerobaros and satanthe42nd came over and fixed the sound on the TV (it went wonky again *sigh*), and figured out a way for us to remotely change from TV to DVD player rather than having to press the not-a-button that 85% of the time refuses to admit you poked it trying to change from one thing to another. (Grr at that button! Most. Dysfunctional Function. Button. Ever.) We watched some of Enter the Dragon, too--I've never seen it before, but kerobaros pointed out the homages Mortal Kombat made to the film, which was pleasing because YES.

In writing news, I wrote a revamped "Little Red Riding Hood," partly inspired by both some of maderr's most excellent fairy tale drabbles ("Wolf," specifically); and by the wonderful book Folk & Fairy Tales: 4th edition and the word "bzou" (werewolf / man wolf), which helped explain in said book's introductory essay that when people first heard Little Red Riding Hood ("The Story of Grandmother"), they weren't thinking of the wolves as wolves.

In slightly related news, I might be writing Weiss Kreuz's Schuldig again. >_>
