Secret Santas are the bomb!
I got my sekrit santa gift today! At first I was confused, because the package was from JetPens, an amazing site for pens and inks and related awesomeness, and I did not remember ordering anything from them that had not already come in (ie. gorgeous Iroshizoku ink for my dad's Christmas present, since he is the fountain pen junkie in the family--which means my pen/ink-love is totally genetic, not that this comes as a surprise to anyone, but...I will stop).
And then I thought, What if--what if--
And I opened the package and there was a gorgeous glass dip pen and gorgeous wine-colored ink and--and--and--
I was very undignified for a few moments. Or perhaps a lot longer. ^_^_^_^_^_^_^
Suffice it to say, the dip pen works brilliantly, though the feel of it scratching on paper was a curious feeling at first, and thus the first things I wrote with it are rather more wooden than my usual handwriting. But damn! I am so overjoyed! I can write in many colors, and write such pretty things, and when the tykes are old enough I'm'a have them try writing with the pen since pen and ink should be part of EVERY child's education (or perhaps I just went to an awesome elementary school--which is also true).
I do not know who my Sekrit Santa of Awesome and Win is yet, but now that they know I have received my gift, I hope they will come forward so I can be properly appreciative. (Not in a dirty way, I swear. >_> Well, unless you want me to write you dirty slashy things. Which I totally will. *waggles eyebrows*)
Unfortunately, I have been a worse Secret Santa than the person I have deserves. I shall send stuff off tomorrow and make sure everything arrives before Christmas, come hell or high water.
Here's hoping the postal service doesn't actually send me the stuff I mailed off.
...Did I not tell you about the time I sent a letter on Japanese stationery to my older sister, and got it in my mailbox THREE TIMES?! And not as a returned letter--no, they mailed the damn thing to my address three times. *headdesk* Oh well, makes for fun stories.
