a Sunday well spent

Sunday was a good day. ^_^

Went to Brandt's in the Loop and wrote for a while. Finished a letter, did some freewriting during a word war, and hung out with Eliana for a little while before the heat got to her and she left for a place with stronger A.C. I stayed because Brandt's is awesome and has wonderful people working there whom I love. I also demolished a tasty salad between writing spurts.

Came home from Brandt's to see my brother for the first time since he got to town on Thursday. He brought his dog, Carter, who is adorable and totally remembers my mom since, well, she feeds him human food with his dry food since he's rail thin despite the age and a half (year?) since my brother got him at a shelter, and she says he doesn't like his dry food, which is probably true since he rarely eats. Brother stayed with a girl friend and two other friends, one of whom had a teeny Yorkshire Terrier, and then the two friends left, and then after watching TV with Mom, TK and his girl friend left too, taking Carter with them. ;_;

While home, I finished filling out my AWA training application (yay!) and got the check ready and writing sample fixed up and printed (double yay!), then checked the web site to see who to make the check out to...only to find out the trainings have been postponed for curriculum restructuring (*cries*). So I sent an email asking for some info (yay!) and hope they reply soon. And that I still have a school-related excuse to go to Seattle this summer. Which might happen anyway if shadowgoddess42 and pulsebeat are both there, and we all coordinate our schedules properly.

Also dropped the two classes I can't take due to credit allocation, and tried to sign up for the summer class I need to take. Good news is, it's not full. Bad news is, I couldn't sign up because they haven't credited my school account with the funds from the dropped classes yet. Oh well. Will deal with the last sign-ups on Monday. At least that'll get done. Unfortunately, I've been told I need to wait another month on the computer.

Will I ever get paid back? *cries*

I got to talk to shadowgoddess42 on the phone, which was fun. ^_^

Then, after we hung up, kerobaros called and said he had McCormick and Meagan at his house and they wanted to play an RPG; Would I GM?

OH HELL YES. (I'm a nervous wreck.) ((Thank you, Fall Out Boy.))

Okay, my "yes" was not that emphatic, seeing as it was late and I had no ideas and was nervous, but thankfully by the time I picked up stuff for us to eat, got there, and we got the group's basic characters and their stats figured out (the BESM 2nd edition stats for Mind, Body, Soul, Attack/Defense, and HP), I had figured out the gist of the game.

Yay for impromptu game sessions! ^___^ I felt bad for kerobaros because he didn't get to participate in much of the game with the other two players, on account of being captured while they were elsewhere and distracted, but he actually had the game's only physical kills. Everybody helped Take Out The Bad Guys and Save The Day, however, and no one died (we were all a little worried about that, I think), so it was good times and all ended well enough. I had fun. I think they did too. We're showing Meagan The Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising later today (being Monday) since she hasn't seen it or The Gamers yet and she games a lot.

I enjoy my life.

Also, when I got home and checked Twitter, I found out bb_shousetsu posted two pages of art for issue 20, where writers pick art as prompts for the issue's stories. THE PICTURES ARE SO FABULOUS! I DON'T KNOW WHICH TO CHOOSE! Thankfully, we're encouraged to do more than one, and submit the extra stories to later issues, since the one-story-per-issue rule still applies.

What a wonderful way to end the day, ne?
