Tucson was cold. It snowed a bit and it was freezing. Some neighborhood friends of my parents invited us to have Christmas Eve with them, we had a great time and the food was all home cooked Italian...mmmmmmm. Jeff got me my
arcteryx jacket! I never saw it coming since an expense like that with all we have to buy was completely off of my radar.
We're still locked in Mortal Combat with the selling bank. I've used the excuse that they're in North Carolina, but it seems a little like a cop out considering we're not in the age of the Pony Express anymore and newfangled things like "Telephones" exist. My next standby for thinking things will be okay is that they have hundreds, nay, thousands of foreclosures to deal with and probably many of those have ongoing offers so they're making sure things are straight. Our closing day was supposed to be today, but now the selling agent is suggesting we offer a new price and negotiations go on. As slow as things are going, our lives are going to be like that ship going into hyperdrive...all slow and braced for engagement, then WHOOSH! hyperdrive goes on and everything is nuts. Once we get the house it's going to be non-stop work and all at once.
We're getting married in a courthouse. It's gonna be fun. I called a judge, hopefully he can do it, otherwise I'll call my b-team judge. The relief is palpable for me. I think Jeff might be a little sad that we're not having a big wedding, but it seems to be balanced by marrying me early.
In other news, Snow cat seems to have an eye infection so I'm taking him to the doc. Poor kitty. He pooped on the carpet last night and I'm guessing it's in direct relationship to his not feeling well and our being gone for a few days. He laid over my lap and nuzzled my hand last night and drooled about a gallon of 'happi-cat-drool' all over me and the chair for about 2 hours until my allergies threatened to kill me.
