I'm always astonished at how lucky I am when I pause and look around at the people that surround me. Everyone has qualities that I love about them or quirky attitudes/habits that make my life better. Everyone does things that make time sort of stand still, or at least bring me into the moment enough to throw off the blandness of the day. For instance:
Tiff is so supportive and objective with all of her friends, she always sees great things in them
Alicia is so very smart, devoted, honest and hardworking (and playing)
Jennifer is stoic and very commited to everything she does.
Clare has this very distinctive laugh that makes me smile no matter where I am on the floor.
Mike has some very intense and well researched views on life and is willing to argue them.
Dru is a seeker of knowlege in any arena, in all of it's forms and he's honest to a fault.
Bob is creative, nurturing and just a smidge crazy, but he lives life with so much enthusiasm, who can resist?
Steve-o has a very curmudgen-like attitude about almost everything in life, yet he comes up with a "flagella dance" during study group.
Brian has possibly the best sense of humor, yet he knows when things need to be taken seriously.
Kristen and Justin are so very committed to each other, it's nice to see relationships that are about the relationship and not what is convenient for each individual person.
Nathalie is very proactive about everything in her life, she is smart, independent and free thinking.
Robert is a wide-eyed optimist who is unfailingly loyal to those he loves
Mark is committed to his family, determined not to grow up too much, and devoted to making things work.
Ned's view of the world is so deliciously sarcastic.
Ginger is very pragmatic about things, she is typically unflappable in most crisis situations.
Mary is hands down the most motivated person I know, she has achieved more than several people combined
Eric has the same knowledge thirsty quality as Dru does, he really thinks about things.
I've said it before, I'm very lucky, this is the short list and only some of the things that I really appreciate about the ones that I see/talk to often. I guess this has been on my mind lately with my pending move, it's stuff I want to remember.
