On the one hand, that's a fair point. But undermining it is the one that says that even then you're still gossiping. Given circumstances, I doubt anyone's particularly interested in what Travers does whilst she lives and breathes.

Anyway, I suppose I may as well ask what happened to make Nutcombe lash out. My, I AM bored as hell. Great, yesterday, Howell and Trystan teased me mercilessly. Today, I'm so bored, I'm talking to Montague, and tomorrow, I have a wonderful appointment with the stupid Warrington.

In which case everyone gossips about everyone else. And unfortunately, it also seems as though far too many people DO care one way or another about her opinions of other people, or at least take her more seriously than warranted.

Travers made one snide suggestion too many about what SHE would do to improve Nutcombe's appearance, I guess. I suppose she was still all caught up in the spirit of catty comments. Presumably not again any time soon though.

I'm truly sorry of you Slytherins. I don't think I could ever be sadistic enough to force the company of Travers to my worst enemy, let alone have them share a common room with her.
It's a shame you stopped Nutcombe from kicking her bony ass. She would have done us all a favour.

Ignoring her seems the best thing to do. However, I do pity Warrington. And those girls unfortunate enough to share a dorm with her.
