I am not so foolish as to incite her ire by butting heads with her when it was quite apparent from the start who held the reins, as it were.
That being said, perhaps you should also be made aware that there are others, namely several of my housemates, who are seeking to draw her attention and notice the OTHER, non-Potter way.
I too will never challenge her directly. There's nothing I can do about it, so it's a lose-lose situation as it is, not to mention just plain unwise.
Private to Montague: Oh. Oh fuck. That is a shame, but it exists regardless. Thank you for telling me. Now I'm very glad I hexed this private from the general student body. And doubly worried about Pince talking to her.

I hope, of course, that this won't polarise the school entirely.
Or, that is, I WOULD hope, but it's inevitable that people will be split into factions from it. I for one don't wish to involve myself in any way, but that's not to say that circumstances may end up forcing my hand. That is, if bloody Malfoy doesn't offer up the entirety of Slytherin House to be that woman's bitches.

Well, if you do find yourself involved in the wrong way, the more hysterical Gryffindors would likely throw up their arms about it. That's because they like to deceive themselves into thinking they'd do the noble thing in the same situation, when they're not entirely certain of whether they would or not. So it's easier to make someone else a scapegoat than to confront their own fears and self-doubts.
Unless you started wearing t-shirts saying, "Hex me, I'm a Muggleborn," I think I would try to understand. Umbridge seems like the type where if she wants you, there's not much you can do about it. Which is why I'm advising everyone to keep a low profile and not bring any attention to themselves.
Is Karen Bundy alright, incidentally? I was talking to her and she seemed so, but now she has an entry discussing DADA difficulties, and I'd like point her in the right direction, but with your recent comment (though I think I know which parties you were talking about), I want to check that it's not a red herring, you know?

Various of the Gryffs would still be displeased if I saved a few dozen ickle firsties from a runaway Hogwarts Express, invented a cure for lycanthropy, owled a bushel of thornless roses to their Common Room AND re-organised all their revision time tables for them all before cooking them breakfast, so I'll just chalk that up as a lost cause if I ever decide that I'm going to actually give a damn.
I tend not to seek attention. It usually finds me, and more often than not is annoying when it does. In this hypothetical situation, it would be no different.
Karen Bundy seems... all right, I suppose. I think she's naffed off at me due to the fact that I couldn't give her a spot on the starting lineup for Quidditch, though, but I can't exactly kick off people who've already been on the team for years. As for the parties who are attracting attention... well, I always did say that an unfortunately large percentage of Seekers seem to have narcissistic tendencies. I can't be more clear than that, I don't think

Just so you know.
