This time a week ago, I was in Oklahoma City trying to find a hotel room. In two days we covered 2000 miles. Cincinnati, OH to Tucson, AZ in two days is quite a haul. I still don't believe the miles went by as fast as they did. I spent the week with my dad and flew back home today. I have 247 pictures and a bunch of stories to tell. But until I get used to EST I won't be thinking too much.
This trip is the best decision I have made in a long time. It allowed me to get away from the daily grind for awhile, I was able to spend two days (driving) with a great person, and I got to see my dad on his turf. It was a growing experience all around. I will think more on this and get a though-provoking entry together.. lol
I will leave you with three things (there's more than three, I promise) I realized/learned on this trip:
1) I needed to see my dad and how he lives his day-to-day life in AZ. It has allowed me to see things in a somewhat different light, and I have a lot of analyzing to do before I can decide what I think.
2) It is really cool to spend two days with someone you have never spent enough time with. It's also cool to find out that even though you've known this person for nine years everything you liked about them in the first place is still there! Becky, thank you for the trip out west!
3) I am absolutely fascinated by flight. There's an air force base in Tucson, and they fly A-10's (my fav!) routinely. I could sit and watch those things for hours on end. I'm such a geek.
Even though it's hot and stuffy here, it's still home and I'm very glad to be here.
