Are Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell secretly engaged? The Sunday Express says yes! Paul's spokespeople say no!
As Bob Dylan's new album, Together Through Life hit no. #1 in the UK and US, rumours of a possible collaboration between Mr. Dylan and Sir Paul in the near future. Both have expressed willingness towards such a project, and their representatives are scrambling to arrange it. Last year Paul confessed that one of his ambitions was to work with the "musical genius". Dylan told Rolling Stone Magazine, "That would be exciting - to do something with Paul. But, you know, your paths have to cross for something like that to make sense."
Yoko Ono, who will soon be playing with her son Sean and the Plastic Ono Band, will also be offered the key to the city in Niagra Falls. It is a part of a tribute to John and Yoko's 1969 Canadian honeymoon, which included a stop at the falls after the Montreal Bed-In. There will be Lennon-Ono related festivities on May 30th.
Fans of Jude Southerland Kessler and her 2007 novel Shoulda Been There are invited to follow her at twitter while she works on the second of her five novels about the life of John Lennon. Shivering Inside, which will cover December 1961 to February 1964, is due to be released in October 2010.
A never before seen lyric from George Harrison, found at Abbey Road Studios, is now on display at the British Library. It has been dated to 1967, and reads:
"Im happy to say that its only a dream
when I come across people like you,
its only a dream and you make it obscene
with the things that you think and you do.
Your so unaware of the pain that I bear
and jealous for what you cant do.
There's times when I feel that you haven't a hope
but I also know that isn't true."
On the other side of the paper are instructions as to how to reach Brian Epstein at his country home- Kingsley Hill- in Sussex. They are written in Brian's own handwriting, which places the lyrics before August, but it is possible that they were written as early as the Sgt. Pepper recordings, which concluded in early April.
