Chapter 1a

The emergency’s call was just an excuse. It was not an easy made-up skit but someone has owed him a compensation. The class was about to start. A few minutes as the slide being projected upon the board, there was a senior student came in and prompted the lecturer a message from the admin office.

Kame remained on his seat gambling for his luck. A glint of excitement danced on his features except for the obviousness. The next thing, his name was called upon. Kame snapped his pen and a few blank papers on the desk and slowly walked down the aisle.

Despite of having all the intentions were on him, the class has not felt a momentary of asking or knowing why his name was up. It didn’t matter to him either way. His social life didn’t resolve mostly around people in the class. Kame preferably to be on his own all the time.

The senior boy turned and walked beforehand. The lecturer was peering from his glass as Kame excused himself.

“Why every time I began the class, you always… always have a need to an important call Kamenashi-kun?” the old man interrupted before Kame reached the door.

Jackpot!

The lecturer had been questioning. Kame smiled in order to smooth things over, but inside he felt amused because it wasn’t the first time he heard the words. Well, it made no different at all if he skipped the class every Tuesday. Because he had already attended the class last semester. It’s only a procedure of repeating the examination.

“Why do you look so concern, Sir? It’s not like I make it do it.” He admitted, putting an innocent reply.

“Not really.” The old man recoiled as he collected the paper notes on the table.

“I believe you can refer to Iwase Ken-sensei about my absence from the class.” His eyes narrowed to the senior boy. Their gazes tangled and it made the other refused to raise his head any seconds.

“Right. I was told before.” Then an awkward silence fell between them.

Whatever it was Kame had missed several of his class, the lecturer never mentioned back though the old man looked much to his dismay. Apparently, he has the full support from Iwase Ken-sensei, the student support representative, that Kame will pass his class this semester.

They knew he was a smart kid and learnt things faster than any average students. It’s just Kame wasn’t so much of himself during the last semester examination. When he was back, he came in like nothing wrong and it wasn’t important when he was acting like usual again.

Kame glanced back at the boy who walked silently just a distance away from him. He paused from walking. A satisfied smirk sheered on his lips as he sleeved out his pocket and palmed the money to the boy’s hand like a handshake.

“Thank you for the little help.” He whispered the remark at the boy’s ear.

The boy looked trouble and shivering, and yet his mouth still kept in tight. Kame sighed.

“Listen, I’m not the one in trouble if this secret goes around…” Grabbing the boy by the shoulder as he closed the distance between them and continued his evil remark, “ - perhaps you should take care of yourself if people discover your relationship with Iwase Ken-sensei was more than a student and a teacher.”

“You bastard! I’m not afraid of you.” the boy aggressively pulled away.

Damn, that was strong, Kame thought. He rubbed his chest as it was cornered by the boy’s elbow.

“You swear not to tell anyone if I cooperate in getting you out of that class every Tuesday. Even Iwase Ken-sensei agreed to. And no one realize the lie and the pretences.” The boy exclaimed.

“It’s not a black-and-white contract, you dumb! The terms might change you know. There are a lot of risks.”

“What did you say?” the boy asked, assuming he’d heard it incorrectly.

“I said, I do not trust you.” Kame explained, sounded mean.

“What a bitch are you!” The boy couldn’t stop cursing and yelling at the same time. His fingers crawled over his creasing forehead to his sweaty hair and throwing back his head in frustration. He never felt so much in trouble for entire his life before.

He wished if Ken-sensei didn’t push him into the sports facility room…

If he didn’t make a sound while the other was busy stretching out his pant…

If that bitch named Kame wasn’t wandering near the place, and probably the latter won’t get to see Ken-sensei gulping his length while he was pleasurably worn out.

The memory caused him to bitter and wanted to forget the mess. But it won’t go away under a sick threat of a pretty boy who was younger than him, brilliant minded and yet so powerfully mean.

Kame remained silent as watching the miserable fellow in front amused him. His gaze shifted when a group of student coming to the hallway ten feet from their standing position.

Speaking of the truth, Kame didn’t mean to threaten them this far. Student-teacher scandal, homosexuality, whatsoever never became a damn issue he worried about. He was just playing around because he often got bored these few days. Also, he hadn’t seen his best friend for awhile or else he won’t border to hang out around these ‘pets’. Furthermore, his two months ‘pet’ had just run away because of this stupid asshole who camped like a spy among the bushes and investigated their blooming romance.

Wait! I didn’t know his name yet. Kame smiled to himself as he propped himself against the wall. He knew what he had to do. On top of that, he needed to get out from here first.

“Tell me what you want?” the senior boy began softly.

“Well… What I want right?” Kame repeated at his idly thought.

The boy continued to stare in anticipation while waiting for the reply.

“I think… - I’ll tell you next time. Ciao~!” Turning his feet away, Kame merely watched the shock surrounded the boy’s face in utter disbelief. He might want to chase after the wicked boy but his action was hold by the sound of his roommates calling from the stairs.

Kame strolled to the crowded hallway. It was already past the afternoon and it seemed people were busy heading for their next class while some of them were directing to the campus cafe for a lunch break. He could hear people would go muttering and looking at him when he passed through the hallway. The girls would exchange a look and chirpily fangirling about him as he walked in front of them. On the contrary, some of the boys would step away or shot an annoying glare or teased him about his girl-shaped body because of the bad rumors about him.

Kame was popular among the girls because of his pretty looks; a rich heir with cool act, active in baseball team and got better grades but was rumored as gay and got scandals with cute guys. Although there was no evidence to prove the rumors was right, his silent responses and ignorant attitude towards the issue didn’t calm people down from having speculations going around the campus. And so, he did not care any single of things they said about him or getting upset due to the rumors and people perceptions.

It was so happened during his first day enrolled to the college, a senior cute boy accidentally kissed him and flirting with him as he was mistaken as the boy’s girlfriend. Anyone could take the mistake as forgiven but the guy, who seemed very embarrass of the incident, blamed him for not rejecting the kiss and spread the rumor that Kame was a gay.

Things won’t get into a mess when you didn’t drown yourself into the trap and that was what he believed. When things didn’t go his way, it was better to remain silence and proceed with his life rather than sulking over the matter. He had this experience once in his high school for the same reasons but he wouldn’t care more now. If he kept going down the same path then it was likely that he would get the same result over and over again. The number of his college girls admired him kept on increasing though lots of people rarely had seen him hung out around with girls. It prompted the gossipers a second thought.

But later, the gossips were just untrue facts, people got bored, leaving the gay rumors aside and started to take the rumors lightly because everyone seemed to agree on the same view that Kame was a good person (except to his ‘pets’) and never hurt anyone though he was always cold, not that friendly and quieter around his colleagues except his only close friend he had at the college, none other was Tatsuya Ueda.

But there was something amused Kame to the extent he wanted to laugh very badly. No one ever realized his twisted personality. Every little thing happened was meant to look good on the surface, but the underlying truth laid a scary dark world to discover. Till now, his deep secret was saved and no one knew his real true face yet. But to him, things should be left unsaid for not making it harder for him later.

An old shabby unused room located at the third floor in Music and Culture Art faculty building. The favourite place where Kame and Tatsuya used to hide themselves from loud fangirls and annoying crowds. That was where he set feet to at the moment. Walking calmly, glancing around to see if others followed him there but no one was spotted at the place he headed to.

But his instinct told him otherwise.

There might be someone else was hiding behind the walls to blind his eyes. He sensed a strange feeling since the beginning he passed through the hallway just now. To assure his curious guess, he made a sudden stop from entering the door.

“I know you’ve been following me. Show yourself to me if you’re not a coward.” He started.
