Author's Note: I will start this off by saying, I’m not a POTC writer by any means. I write Mighty Ducks fan fiction, but have a close personal friend who’s involved with this section of the site. I finally got around to seeing the move myself and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. But something about it irked me… so what does any self respecting fan fic girl do when she sees something on a movie that doesn’t fit with her? She writes about what she wants to see. So voila. All constructive criticism is very much appreciated, I write with predominately 20-21st century settings so my dialect may be rusty. Also this will be pretty short, seeing as I’m forcing myself to start on this idea I’ve had for quite some time. The first chapter doesn’t really reflect where the story is heading. Oh well. Cheers kids.

Elizabeth stood leaning against the balcony gazing out across the ocean. The sun had just begun to set, and as though a box of oil paints had been spilt across the horizon, it was streak vividly with colours. A slight breeze twisted off the surface of the tranquil water carrying the fresh aura of salt and vegetation with it as it danced tenderly through her brunette curls.
Every night she stood on the balcony and watched the lights spill across the sky, yet it never got dull or repetitive for her. Every night she gazed longingly to the sea, for reason unbeknown to her, as though she was waiting for something.
Yet what need she wait for? The governor’s daughter, married to her charming love, and know the proud mother of a beautiful babe, with even a proper nurse to care for the infant. Everything a young woman as herself could dream for. And aye, she was aware that anything outside of what she knew was but a dream.
“Now what be a pretty maiden such as yourself be standing loosely on the balcony for?” a harmonic voice interupted her. She spun quickly around, heart racing, as though she were to be hiding something. She found herself in the arms of her husband.
“Well sir, this pretty maiden is just enjoying the beautiful view, may thou care to join her?”
“I’d love to m’dear, but I’m only here to request the presence of my wife the fair Elizabeth at supper,” he winked.
“Aye, well she’d be most honoured to accompany you,” she smiled sweetly. For every night she was whisked away from her subconscious dreams and freedom back into her life, to the dinner table, to the ballroom, to society. Her inter most thoughts were thrust and tied back along with her lungs with a corset.
“Well I’m assuming you would want to change Lizzie,” Will beamed. She nodded slightly, while shaking inside. He was such a good man she knew, yet so oblivious. So ignorant to her veneers, her facades. Although she wasn’t sure all would be well if he perceived otherwise, for if he could take her smiles as authentic, she need not to worry about his inquisitiveness on other… far greater subjects. She watched mundanely to make sure his retreating back disappeared out the door into the house, and as the door shut softly she spun around for one last breath of air. And gaze towards the sea.
