yes, well...
two pm on a beautiful, sunny saturday afternoon. i'm back in prov and am pretty sure i'm happy about it. I do have such sweet people here who like me, amazing classes, etc, but also a nagging sense of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
last night we baked cookies and drank beer in celebration of birthdays that occured over the break. around 3 am last night as i was going to the bathroom to brush my teeth before bed, i walked in and there was a boy there, along with a very drunk girl. they begged me to let me into the vending machine room in exchange for a "special cigarette" (no euphemism intended) so i let them in, and as i smoked the cigarettee with them the boy took me aside and said "leave. this is a death trap." i laughed as one would and he pressed me saying again, very seriously as the drunk girl was falling all over herself, "leave. death trap." so i left.
also, i still don't know what classes i'm taking this semester. I have it down to the following:
CG44: Perception and Mind (cog sci... what?)
HA86: Contemporary Architecture (best professor ever. so hot. and he says "ideer")
RS21: Religion and its Critics in the Modern West (i'd read freud and neitzche, and since i'm in the ivy league, i figure i should do that, probably.)
RS88-09: Women and Religion: a trans-historical, cross-cultural perspective (no explanation necessary)
AE5: Archeological Field Work (diggin up shit. if i get in. long wait list)
AN129: Film and Anthropology: Identity and Images of Arab Society in Film (definately taking it)
VA10: Studio Foundation (again if i get in)
MC26: Cinematic Coding and Narrativity
TA3: Intro to Acting and Directing (want to do theater, but filled with annoying theater kids.)
so today i will go to the book store. and coffee with hot jenny. and hopefully chat with my best girl. (thats you , stell.) and should probably call my dad.
