I will find my way, I can go the distance
I'll be there someday if I can be strong
I know every mile will be worth my while
I would go most anywhere to feel like I belong
I'm trying to take it easy today after one of the busiest, most packed week-and-a-halts of my recent life. I can hardly believe that last Monday I was showing up without having barely even seen the inside of a school bus more than a dozen times, and today I can tell you in detail about the visible innards and drive one without hitting things - not to mention I've already passed the road test. Unlike my first road test in a car, I actually felt like I was going to pass this one more likely than not, which given that it's for driving a 40 foot vehicle, one would think I'd be less sure of myself. But in the end, there's only a few new things about driving a big vehicle, and I've become rather a conscientious and careful driver over the years. Of course, there were some things that happened in the test that made me certain I'd failed, but they passed me anyways. Right after my test the co-ordinator gave me a hug and asked if I had time right that moment for getting training on a wheelchair bus, which I made time for - so now I have a rather interesting but short route with a couple of handicapped folks.
After the wedding I shot on the beach at Battleford Provincial park, I realized that going to the beach and having a picnic was the ideal mini-vacation for Paul and I, especially because Murphy is allowed to be there. I had the great joy of seeing the Murph swim for the first time. It was cold and he wasn't terribly happy about it, but our time there was lovely and we have plans to go back next weekend. Originally it was going to be the Monday of this long weekend, but I decided enough was enough and I was flat out too busy for that. So it got moved a weekend over…
I've been so busy I haven't even had a chance to catch my breath. Yesterday we babysat my best friend's infant twins, which was great although I was pretty tired. Seeing them sleeping made me want to nod off myself! Regardless, it was a pleasure to help them out. The night before that Paul and I decided on a movie night in, where we watched Hercules, one of my favourite Disney flicks that Paul had never seen. It's still as funny as it was a over a decade ago. Yes, that's right. Over a decade. Wow.
I had the person I'd hired for working for the business quit because of personal reasons, and I subsequently hired a current client, which I think will work out really well - and people will finally see some of my new work! I visited a few friends recently, and today I had lunch with my family - a short lunch, but I made time for it, and the company and food were both lovely.
