Okay, so today was a good day all in all. Got lots of random work stuff done, moved about half my stuff from Cabin 3 (or into the trunk of my car to go home) where I've been staying until busy season hits to room 30 of the Fourplex, which has a perfect shelf for books (I think I got more pleasure out of stocking that shelf than any other action today) and a HUGE window to the forest. It's a smaller space and I lose the luxury of my lovely plush chair that I've been reading in, but on the other hand there's a bathroom right next door (Might be able to brush my teeth just a little more regularly now...) and a cushiony thing that I can move to the floor for loungy reading. And I already mentioned the shelf. Oh, and hangers in the closet, man. Luxury. Now I won't smell like a drawer for the first ten minutes of the day. So despite the lack of legroom I am pleased about the move.
I found a slinky. Played with it for a good three minutes before putting it in the lost and found. Being easily amused is a really good thing. I may adopt it if nobody inquires.
After packing and dragging half my stuff, I went on the internets and got lost there. Best time surfing in months! I was going to watch more of my anime discs tonight, but, well, the internet. Just, the internet.
Mostly TVtropes was at fault. Again. It's my obsession with categorizing everything that makes me love that website so... I also discovered
Aqua, an LJ... ummm... widget of sorts that lets you browse sentences from realtime LJ posts. Mildly addicting. Which is how I found
lupus_lupus , my most recent LJ friend, who seems to have some things in common with me, including blogging style. (I think the sentence I saw was, "Sometimes I wonder how different I would've turned out, if we had lived at the commune house for most of my childhood." Intriguing to say the least.) Also, I found possibly the greatest
homemade Goldberg machine I've ever seen. And I got back into Questionable Content for a bit. And Ricki called me again so we could discuss the awesome that is Fruits Basket. I discovered
AwesomeStart, which offers a Google start page, but themed. (Currently I've decided on Batman.) I basically get bored of my homepage because Firefox has made the start page rather unuseful. So now I can keep changing it up. Who's with me, anyone else found a nice start page there?
I realized that I'm actually looking forward to a number of TV shows starting up again in Fall. Among them Pushing Daisies (more surreal mystery romance!), How I Met Your Mother (more Barney!), and Scrubs (more surreal humor!) There's probably others I've forgotten, but I'm definitely looking forward to these in particular. Also, at some point I want to catch up on So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars for this season. I just don't want to do it quite yet because it will set off my longing for ballroom again. Just a few more weeks, man.
Despite the fact that I'm really sore today, it was a great day. =D
