Cards, Art, Malls, Marks

I got talked to at work for being late so often this week. It bugged me ALL day. It still bugs me. I can't stand doing anything wrong, especially if it requires a formal discussion.

I have been spending far too much time with Dr. Suess's anapestic tetrameter. I am very surprised that Fox in Socks is only the 8th best seller. It's my very favourite... And I now have a Five Fish screen background. You know, the colorful ones. It's tres cool.

The marks I've been getting back for this semester are spectacular - a 90% in 3rd year Sculpture, for example. Apparently my mark was 89 and he's submitting it as 90, and what's hilarious about that is we had a conversation once about how your heart sinks every time you get a 79 or 89 mark. "Couldn't I just have done ONE percent better? I mean, really!" I am glad to see he's kinder than that! Without counting all three of my quiz marks, which work out to count to only about a percent each, I made a full 100% in this semester of Digital Imagery. The only mark I have received back from Art History was a 90% on my research presentation, which my Prof said was 3rd/4th year quality in a 2nd year class. I forsee pretty numbers in my future.

I went to the VASU Art Auction on Friday night. I had three photo prints in it, two of which (the unexpected two - Teacups and the Sleeping Wolf though my Clock one didn't sell suprisingly) sold at base value for $10 each - though I am generally pleased that two people liked the prints enough to purchase them. Many things at the show did not sell, and therefore I am glad to see that what I selected has appeal. Secondarily, I purchased a painting that I liked called "Rest" by a girl I know just a little, Alison Cooley. My family really liked it too, and it sits on our mantle. This is the best photograph I can get of it at present. Click for detail.

Isn't it lovely? I am quite fond of it, and as soon as I have a household/apartment non-family home dwelling, it will be the basis of my bedroom decor. It's so peaceful. Which belies the fact that I had to hang around until the end of the auction and snipe it. =)

I had a guy from my painting class be absolutely shocked on finding out I wasn't a painting major. I hate painting, even when doing it for fun... Regardless I am probably going to do a painting next week for a benefit... I wish to waste some of my paint on a nice abstract.

I have been busily doing all sorts of things. I scanned some old school pics of myself, so look for those online soon.

I got a little holiday shopping done today in a super crowded mall, and ate schnitzel in a super crowded food court. I need to get quite a bit more scanning done before I am satisfied, though! I have a lot of paper to digitize. Coming Soon - Pictures of me at ages 8 months, 7 years, etc. Also, my last Photo project.

I got my hair cut today. Nobody noticed.  I went to Melanie's photograph trading party. Speaking of which, for all Conquiztadors reading this: Click here for all my ConQ pics that are online, which is basically all my good ones up to recently.

I wrote life-shatteringly important Christmas Cards.  Heh. I wonder how many of them will be kept?
