Unfold
You put this joy in my heart
You are what I want to sing about
Never could ever begin to endeavor
How You've been involved
How You have unfolded my life to right here

Well, well, well. Here we come again to the typed summation of all things relating to me in the past 24 hours or so...

I listened to Riley Armstrong today, but still not the new album I bought. A mediocre review from a good friend has lowered it on my To Do list. It's not even on my official To Do list on iGoogle . Of course until a moment ago, neither was my need for a dentist appointment, or the date and time of my upcoming haircut. But now those two are anyway.

Last night I went to the gym, where I haven't been in some time. I was glad to see that I hadn't gained much weight at all since February when all my hard work at self control kind of went down the drain along with my energy and sense of self. Yay, University. I got to see Chantal at the gym and she lent me a book on the topic of women's rights worldwide. I am looking forward to reading some of it tonight perhaps. After I finished at the gym, James picked me up for snacks and a Smallville Season 3 marathon - so far I have concluded a number of things. First, Relic is possibly the greatest Smallville episode EVER. Two, there is so much kissing in this season it's starting to get old, and kissing rarely ever gets old in my books. Three, the satisfied look on Chloe's face after the hospital records room opportunity/incident is priceless. Fourth, POOR LEX, circa "Asylum." And finally, there's still 14 episodes left in this season, and I'll be relishing every one of them. James and I had fun heckling so many things, it was great. We also discussed what would possibly be the best superhero power ever - to be able to forgo sleep for any amount of time with no lag effects - be at full energy output at all times forever until you decided to become sleepy and then sleep. The sheer awesomeness of that kind of superpower. Man.

We wrapped up circa 1am, and I got to sleep (aw man, why can't I have sleep resistant superpowers?!?) at about 2:30, only to awaken at 10:30 and shower to go with the family on family errands-that-require-a-car day. First of all, I went to pick up the lappy and pay a $250 bill from the computer repair shop to fix something that's a factory defect that HP should have fixed two repair dates ago. I shall be making a post about this, as well as a formal complaint to HP with the full sanction and support of the repair guy, who said he fixes hundreds of these a year. Grrrrr. Through all this I have found out that everything else in my lappy is working fine, on an individual basis... Therefore I am moderately content. Also, my Pastor was in the area and popped his head in my car window to say hello. After the lappy was safely on board, my family and I had lunch at Tony Romas, which was delicious as always, and then I got a bang trim at the hairdresser's - it's always good to see my eyebrows, they're the best part of my face IMO.

I was supposed to hang with Roberta and Chantal this afternoon, but Roberta didn't have her cell and there was no clear meeting place "by the river" so I ended up not being able to see them today. Roberta and I desperately need to do coffee soon, though.

My family hit Staples and Winners - I went into Staples with my Mom because we were there to pick up a wireless router since ours decided to konk and it was pretty slow to begin with. Now I am writing to you from a lightning fast connection on my laptop. Which hasn't died. In hours! It's beautiful! ;_;

Anyway. While the rest of the family were shopping at Winners I put my MP3 player through the truck speakers, stretched out and languished in the sun, and played some Maroon 5, Riley Armstrong, and retro music. It's been a good day for music that way. After that, we hit McNally Robinson (where I got to wave at Carla) and Penningtons (where I found myself uninterested in any new clothes, thankfully) and Fuddruckers. I'd never had a burger with grilled onions at Fudds before, but it was wonderful! It's going on ze list of things to eat again.

My Aunt made a comment that kind of weirded me out about how, now that I'm pretty much an adult, my family are going to be more like friends to me, and it's different now. I dunno, it made me thoughtful. I've never been afraid or even wary of growing older. I guess part of it is that I like my adult self a whole lot better than any prior incarnation of self I can pinpoint. But still, really thinking about it is kind of mindblowing sometimes I guess.

One thing is for certain, this weekend is going to be far too short to do almost anything I want to do. I'll be able to watch a fraction of the the shows I want, and read maybe one or two of the books on my growing list. This whole summer is going to be far too short for a myriad of reasons.

When we got home I set up the hammock in the backyard and read for awhile while my Aunt cracked twiggy branches for use in our chiminea. I commented that I'd like a fire tonight, and she said it was ironic that someone who most wanted the fire wasn't helping in making the fire possible. My response was, "Where can I find some work gloves?" and between the two of us a good part of the job went pretty fast indeed. It completed my gym workout in a way, since I hadn't had a whole lot of time to work my arms =) After that I finally came in to make my tribute page for Ricki's birthday and spend a little time on the internets...

So that was my day...

shopping, #life
