Yesterday was possibly the best day of my summer so far.
Ashleigh and I and my Grandma and Aunt went to the Ex last night with the help of some free passes and a lot of stuff that definitely wasn't free.
Random interjection:
http://www.43things.com/person/newsong because it's cool.
Well, the LJ cut was kind of deceptive, because I really can't say a lot about last night.
Let me put that in point form.
- Ashliegh and I went on lots of rides.
- I discovered that I LOVE the Tilt-a-Whirl.
- I discovered that one ride that made me feel sick one year still makes me sick... But it feels cool enough to keep going on it.
- I had lemonade made by shaking lemons, sugar, and ice. Commercial lemonade is forever ruined. It was the best, most refreshing, most perfect lemonade I'd ever had.
- I shared an elephant ear covered in cinnamon sugar with Ash. Mmmmmmm.
- Corndogs are among my favourite junk foods. Right at the top with nachos, onion rings, and curly fries.
- Stuffed animals are coolest when won at the Ex.
- The Midway isn't the only part of the Ex. (The parents went and splurged on an iron and some chairs in the Ex "store".)
- When your feet reach the endurance limit, you can push them further simply by ignoring them.
- Bumpercars are awesome enough to line up twice for.
- You don't really need cool fuzzy hats.
My final thought: Fairs are places to waste a lot of money, but that's not what counts. The fun you have there almost always outweighs the prices by years of good memories.
Downsides to the Ex:
Today I can barely move and I'm half asleep at work.
