i sat down and had a conversation with porter after talking things out with louie. he just laughed it off, "he's being a guy."
i told porter that there was never anything going on with louie and i.
"the second we're through, lyla.. the second."
"that's an exxageration. and it was only because i was drunk at a party."
"why him? there were plenty of other guys there."
"he's been a good friend to me."
he made some comment about what good friends do that was beyond irritating and immature and then i got a little madder.
"look, porter. we broke up. you don't get to have a say anymore unless you tell me you want to say. and only THEN will this be an actual discussion."
i got up to leave. he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back.
"i want a say."
i waited for him to continue. searched his face. his mouth, his eyes. the way he looked at me. i knew it wasn't over.
"so then make some decisions. you want a say? what do you think that means you should do?"
then i walked away, empowered. i knew he watched me leave and i knew he wanted me. i knew it was only a matter of time before he came crawling back.
and once he did, we could be entangled in our web once more.
