Ah, this fic leaves me with a big smile on my face. What can I say, "I would let you poison people" is somehow such a cute, out of left field confession of love. And yet, somehow the dots do seem to connect in Koyama's brain.
And the poor boys, they both suffered so much they deserved a happy ending. And yet in all that angsting there were something things that cracked me up.
I love SUGOI SHIGE ... that's such a perfect moment and you've definitely gotta have a catchcry.
And the other line that totally made me laugh out loud, after already chuckling over I imagine the squinty eyed one is the holdout -
was this line: I do feel sorry for Kato! 10 years of waiting for someone to get a clue is enough to make anyone a clumsy fuck.
That totally cracked me up.
This was a great ride - funny, angsty, a little smexy and ultimately satisfying. As much as I wanted Shige to make a success of it all, I also wanted him to stop putting himself in peril and just make the serious moves on Koyama. And poor Koyama, he kind of got whacked over the head with the realisation of his feelings. Still I think it's much easier to jump into it with someone you don't have a long friendship with, than to move from friends to more. And maybe that's always the challenge of KoyaShige - what is going to be the catalyst to move one or both of them out of the comfort zone of their friendship and explore the possibilities.
sigh - if only they did have a tv show together. How happy would we be.
