Because even in times of unemployment, tea will be had.
My dear friend
elfqueen7377 and I decided to throw a tea party instead of a graduation party. It was really an excuse to get together and sip tea, munch on nommy sandwiches, eat scones and catch up with good friends. Lucky, the weather cooperated and we were able to hold it outside.
We had: earl grey, (really delicious) green tea (according to my dad), and rosebud tea; the following scones: cinnamon walnut, pesto parmesan and strawberry, with lemon curd, orange marmalade, clotted cream and raspberry preserves; the following sandwiches: smoked salmon and cream cheese, chicken salad, ham and brie; spring rolls; pound cake; meringue kisses (unpictured); five very hungry and soon-to-be very full young ladies of quality.
Nommy delicious food! This is the best photo of the spread:
Tea and friends!
The scones were well-loved:

Just peachy.
The hats were custom ordered from Jas at
TwoBackFlats over on etsy, which are splendidly marvelous and whimsical. Highly recommended! I'm going to be a big geek and tell you what they are. Mine is a turquoise and brown damask mini top-hat with rhinestone trim, a swish of feathers, pink peonies, a toffee-pink ribbon and a birdcage veil. Jenny's is a black felt hat with a white striped ribbon and bow.
We had fun passing them around:
It was delicious! (photos courtesy of Jenny and Mrs. Van H!)
