as mentioned, me and Fred went to chester zoo the other day. there was much awesomenes;
- boat ride where we saw monkeys and giraffes from the boat!
- monorail, that goes all over, and has awesome views of many animals.
- BATCAVE , that is a really dark cave full of bats, but with some lights so you can see them, and it is an amazing thing. i wish i coulda got photos in there.
- butterfly house, FULL TO THE TOP with amazing butterflies
- really friendly rhinos!
- amazing meerkats
- good, not expensive food and drinks.
- i paid for 10,000 litres of water to africa, buy buying 2 bottles of water (at £1, cheap and helps people!).
- all the stuff that is sold in the park is conversation/fair trade etc, but at reasonable prices
- penguin enclosure with big water bit and glass sides, so you can see them underwater!
- so much stuff! we struggled to do it all in one day!
we got there early, and met a
friendly black rhino, who was shortly joined by her companion,
who decided to sleep again.
there were also
antelope, some sleepy
Sitatungas , some
beautiful gemsbok, and these
awesome West African Cranes.
Also it's
hard to see how tiny that Kirk's Dik-dik is, but it was like, 10cm high. rabbit with long legs! adorable thing!
hmm, i can't go through all of
the photos, but there was also
mongoose mum and babies!,
comical Macaques,
a family of meerkats, a
fake alligator (either he's fake, or very stoned.).
Hungry hungry Giant Otter! ,
Some sadly distant Lemurs, mocking us., and
this farking huge White Rhino full set is
here , but the very best are below, cut for your bandwidths.
First up, some butterflies, from the awesome butterfly experience thing!
Here's a macaque eating his breakfast
And the Rhino that was stood less than 1 meter away!
Sleepy Croc
Foragey Meerkat
Gemsbok, being awesome.
Chameleon, basking. I really like this shot. Yes, i can't spell. no, i'm not renaming it.
Komodo Dragon. Scary thing!
and the meerkats again, i really like this;
and a Lion, Lying. I'm not lieing.
very close encounter with a mongoose. This enclosure has plastic domes you can go inside to see the mongooses really up close.
This may be my favourite shot - penguin swimming past.
We were lucky to see the Giant Otter at feeding time, but they were so eager to get food that I struggled to get photos of them. Was very cool to see.
Spider Monkey, Spider Monkey, does whatever a spider monkey does..
This is a Rhea. That is all.
Curse you foilage! Move, i want a photo!
Thinking about jumping
Yellow tree frog!
overall, Chester Zoo, awesome.
