NEWS PVs (aka what we Americans call Music Videos and the Japanese call Promotional Videos) and live performances linked.
NEWS Nippon PV : Original nine-membered NEWS! Of course they're all incredibly skinny and in need of being force fed by IV drip. Nothing too great or exciting to be found in his PV, there's the regular Johnny hand motions and dance moves. Obviously Pi gets the most time on screen and the good vocalist Moriuchi makes his appearance (damn why'd you have to leave?!), followed by Ryo + Uchi (they're practically married pre-Uchi suspension) and then Tegoshi + Massu get some lines, and of course Koyama + Shige + Kusano get practically nothing. Since there's nine members, the whole Go North Go East Go West Go South thing is really messy, it gets better later on in the years (but it's still as corny).
(1) In this clip the song is performed live somewhere (most likely FNS) and they wear some sort of weird blue shirt that resembles something a cowboy would wear (in other words, standard Johnny's wear). And it's missing Ryo who unfortunately was mia in some stuff cos he was in Eito too at the same time. So Pi still looks anorexic, Uchi's hair makes him look like a girl, Tegoshi looks like the dorky younger brother you'd make fun of, Massu looks adorable and still as cute as he does now, Koyama is also basically the same, Shige is not as hot as he is now, and Kusano looks like...Kusano.
(2) Live at their N.E.W.S. Con we have what we now know as NEWS (meaning six members). Ryo's hot (I'm biased and skipping through the video). Oh and in case you're wondering, Shige's still not that hot yet.
(3) They're at MS and honestly, do they really need like 3985786 backup dancers on top of the fact that they have nine members dancing around? It makes for an extremely messy performance.
(4) Still nine-membered NEWS, this time live at Pop Jam (does that still exist?) anyway, it's still messy and the only thing that is different is NEWS tries to be cool and do some acrobatics (Um, Massu and someone-I-can't-see-the-face-of I am told it's Uchi? do backflips and Pi jumps over them, nimble isn't he?)
Kibou ~ Yell~ PV : Bounce bounce bounce with me! And now Moriuchi has made his departure and we're left with eight-membered NEWS, who are still stick thin and not looking much better than they were the first time we saw them. Of course their costumes sort of got worse, because instead of astronaut suits, they've now donned ill-fitting suits with a tacky red rose pattern. They are still paired off the same and unfortunately Ryo sounds really whiny and looks really small still (plus his hair ugh). Oh and if we're going to mention hair, I'm not a big fan of Pi's dirty blond with light blond highlights, I seriously think he looks like a washed out drug addict. And more random english just for kicks, V I C T O R Y FLY TO HIGH WITH NEWS!!
(1) So they're on Hey!Hey!Hey! and instead of ill-fitting white tacky suits, we get ill-fitting red suits, although they aren't as tacky now (but still obviously recycled). Yay! And who else loves how Pi is the only one that gets a loosely knotted tie? Not a show of favoritism at all (although he does look good with that tie...). Oh but we do get multicolored balloons falling from the ceiling a la prom night and no, Shige is still not hot and yes, Tegoshi still looks like a dorky brother.
(2) N.E.W.S. dvd performance and Shige's highlights sort of remind me of Pepe le Pew, a um, cartoon skunk. They're wearing sparkly red jackets (it's Johnny's so when I say sparkly, I mean sparkly) and have some type of dead fur hanging off their shoulders. They also take turns jumping off that circular moving platform and I know the six of them don't weigh much but that thing shook so much I thought they'd fall off or something. Of course they didn't, and then I sort of was left hoping they would've (might have been more exciting that way)
(3) Pacific Con performance of Kibou. Okay so seriously, they're all looking hot here (especially Ryo with his Last Friends hair and yep hot!Shige appears). Oh and trivia, that smiley face on the towels and shirts was actually designed by Massu. There's also an appearance from Sho and Nino of Arashi (and they attempt to do some hand movements too, guess they did their hw before coming). Ryo also sort of forgets to sing a line, which Tegoshi kindly points out by laughing at him.
Akaku Moyuru Taiyou PV : I LOVE THIS SONG SO HARD. It's sort of harder and more techno than their other happy pop fare and it's really awesome (NEWS could be the techno group of JE! Lol). Pi really should stick to black hair, or it's just that he's so skinny I don't like looking at him. Also their dance moves are really just bad even by Johnny standards. Still messy because I'm probably so used to six membered NEWS that anything more sort of makes the OCD in me go, "OMG NO! MESSED UP." They also wear fuzzy cardigans in either turquoise blue or an ugly mustard yellow (of course Pi is exempt as usual).
(1) Some live with all eight members. Pi's hair is sort of weird in this, it's tied up and sort of clipped somehow (apparently like an ahjumma, or in japanese terms, like an obaachan) but the dancing is better here.
(2) N.E.W.S. Con with flying Ryo! This was the first performance I ever saw for this song and was immediately hooked. It's a great song to perform live and it's one that really rouses the audience. I still love the dance towards the end and hot damn would you look at Massu go?
Cherish PV : Everyone knows this song so I'm sure it doesn't need to be introduced. It's awesome, end of story. Besides they're all wearing jeans + tshirts which means they're looking better than before. Sure it's still corny (what with their faces on the skyscrapers and all that) but it's better. They've each got a pink glove on their right hand and at least it looks uniformed.
(1) Shounen Club performance with lots of Jrs. backdancing for them and a crowd of fangirls in the background. Tegoshi is looking better and less dorky, now he's elevated to the status of geeky cousin. There's some more weird dance moves here.
(2) Music Station live and there are more Jrs. than NEWS members again. I'm also not sure what's up with Ryo's hair but I swear my dad's done that side-swept thing before and he's like 50+.
(3) They're at Utaban and Ryo's hair is much better here. His solo part actually sounds good too so either it's recorded or he's actually sounding good (I say the first choice, not because I don't have faith in Ryo's singing but because it's Johnny and it's almost always recorded)
(4) DVD performance from N.E.W.S. Con and they're looking hot in black suits. I love Ryo's bangs D: Serious fetish, sorry.
Teppen PV : What can I say about this PV? It's basically boys having fun, and since we love our boys happy, it puts a smile on my face. There's some genuine water splashing going on and it really looks like fun was had.
(1) at N.E.W.S. Concert, there's more NEWS flying around on wires. Of course it's a wise choice to let the three best live singers fly around though (and in case you're not aware of who those three are, it's Massu, Tegoshi and Pi)
(2) Music Station appearance and they're missing Ryo and Uchi again due to Eito obligations. Pi's hair is looking a lot better.
(3) Hey!Hey!Hey! performance where Kusano looks gangster, or pretends to be at least. Ryo looks crazy cos he's smiling manically, Tegoshi looks like the little kid he was, and Pi's outfit is definitely too busy.
(4) they're at Music Fighter and it's basically the same as above.
Sayaendou PV : Another one of my favorite songs, I really love this song. I believe it was my second favorite after I first got into NEWS. It's got a bit of spanish flair, as obvious by some of their lyrics. This cute PV features cartoon!NEWS as pirates :DD And who doesn't laugh hard at the first picture of flailing cartoon!Ryo? and why is cartoon!Massu just as cute (btw, what the heck is that thing on his head? Lol I swear Pebbles from the Flintstones has that too and she's a she unless it's a slab of meat which is then acceptable). Watch this PV, you'll love it for sure.
(1) Concert performance and it's kind of eh for me but still love this song and I am not ashamed to admit I know the hand movements to this song...(or maybe I am slightly ashamed)
Hoshi wo Mezashite PV : Their first song since their hiatus! I won't lie, that fact alone makes me love this song so much harder. And it's really not a bad song either. They sing to a um body double? Well they sort of sing to a moodier version of themselves. Pi's hair is a bit funky, it's permed or something and makes him look a bit like a wet poodle. Other than that they all look pretty good, and it's post-suspension Shige! Which means he gets better looking and actually grows a pair (I'm talking down below), so he's much more alluring somehow lol. Ryo's hair makes me sfbg;skfgnjsfbsjkgnsjfkh <3
(1) SC performance, which is always nice. The vocals are pretty good, save for a few mistakes, and Pi's hair is a lot better here. Their outfits are hot, it's a gold trimmed black thing and they are rocking it. And for those of you who have been awaiting it, hot!Shige is here. He's got his hair cut and it's that faux-hawk thing which is definitely one I wouldn't mind seeing him don again. Ryo is wearing a hat, which he is prone to doing because he's got a hat fetish.
(2) looks like a live performance at possibly SCP? But I'm not too sure, the video doesn't specify. Anyway we've got Pi with really flat, black hair and pre-hot!Shige, thank god Ryo's looking good lol. And it's not that I don't love Koyama, Tegoshi or Massu when I don't mention them, but they always look the same. Massu and Koyama especially.
(3) Concert performance and they all look good and sound good as well. I actually really like how Tegoshi is looking during this period, not at all slutty and just pretty.
(4) Yet another live and it's actually live (at Hey!Hey!Hey! for those who actually care), for the most part anyway. Some of the commenters seem to think Pi is the only one lip-syncing and I won't bother to listen that closely to tell. But Tegoshi is definitely singing live, and so is Ryo because his voice is um worse lol. After that I stopped paying attention, oh I love Massu's little jump in the performance though.
(5) live at Music Fighter and it's a good one! Lol well I mean, judging by appearances only and okay I admit that I know the hand movements for this dance too DD: And you know what though? You would also if you've had to watch five different videos of the same song for a pimp post on top of the gazillions of times I've watched this song being performed!! Pi's hair is much much better here, in fact I like it a lot lol. They're all smiley too during the chorus which sort of makes the fangirl in me squeal just a bit.
(6) MS and this is actually an acapella performance. I actually haven't seen or heard this version before. I had some qualms about it cos we're talking about a Johnny's group singing acapella when I'm used to hearing DBSK level of acapella. I obviously didn't judge NEWS by the same standards and I'm actually surprised, it's not bad at all! Granted there wasn't many attempts at harmonizing and most of them were made by Tegoshi or Massu. The ad-libs by Tegoshi were fairly good. Plus, they still look hot.
Weeeek PV : It took me a while to learn there were four e's in NEWS' weeeek. Anyway, another one of my favorite songs and it's actually penned by Greeeen which sort of explains it. NEWS in suits and the rest should be self-explanatory. Another one of my fetishes is men in suits, and this is hot men in suits. All members look amazing and this is actually a song for Russ-K, which they campaign for. The PV is a mix of the boys jumping around crazily while randomly humping Shige's poster and them appearing in comics. Either way I love this PV cos it's sort of nuts and they're all huggy and friendly with one another. Plus, keep your eye on Ryo cos he seriously lets loose and I swear to god, if you let him go like that, Ryo becomes a rapid dog in heat and it's worth noting that if you like Ryo when he's like this, you should go check out Kanjani8 stuff cos that's how he acts all the time there (this type of song is also really well suited to his voice)
(1) Pacific Con performance and this was their opening song. They seriously all look smoking hot and I wasn't kidding about this being the type of song Ryo's good at, his live ain't bad at all, it's actually good. Plus you see them all in their respective colors and yellow!Massu is the cutest thing.
(2) at Utaban and in their normal clothing, or as normal as Johnny gets (which is still brightly colored sweaters). There's evidence here of Massu's billowy pants which I couldn't find a picture of earlier. They're all a bit hyper and high here, so there's loads of jumping around and emphatic dancing/hand movements. But honestly if the others were on crack, Ryo was on crack + dope cos he's skipping like a little fairyboy and that's sort of not normal (I say sort of cos of Eito stuff). Oh and worth a mention, Ryo's all over Shige in this pv and he shows his member-ai by grabbing Koyama's hair and not letting go. What love!
(3) them at Hey!Hey!Hey! and there's more happy boys jumping around. Some more Ryo/Shige interaction and there's a huge burst of shiny streamers towards the end.
(4) Music Fighter appearance and it's basically the same as the above ones except Massu's on Koyama like white on rice :D
(5) Another weeek performance and I'm getting bored guys, so I'll stop now.
Taiyou no Namida PV : Hello there favorite PV of all time :DD It's a great song and we're treated to 4+ minutes of our boys emo style. Can it get any better? Right, I forgot to mention that there's rain, as in the boys get wet, as in hot and wet boys :DD (much abused of ":D" will be made here so skip ahead if you don't wish to read). Pi, needless to say is awesome at emoing cos he's Pi and because he hardly smiles anyway so he knows how to work the angst. Koyama looks sufficiently sad whereas Massu, poor Massu looks as if somebody just ate his bento DD: Shige looks pissed and about ready to kick someone's ass and Tegoshi does a good sad!boy face as well. And here we go, Ryo! We've paid attention yes? We realize that I'm a huge Ryo fangirl and that Ryo was born to emo? Well then, insert rapid keysmash here because he's fucking hot here (well they all are). Oh and dorky!Pi makes an appearance towards the end with his cups lol.
(1) live at Utaban, nothing special besides the fact that they're still all looking gorgeous and fine. Oh and this single served as the themesong to Kurosagi, Pi's movie.
(2) this SC performance has them in different outfits than the others, they're decked in orangeish, blackish and silverish outfits. That may sound like a halloween costume gone wrong (and it might be, too many Eito performances makes me a bad judge) but it's really not bad.
(3) at Pacific Con and they're all happy and giggly which doesn't really match the song but hey, looking good.
(4) FNS live during christmas of 2008, because they haven't released a single since forever (while Arashi releases like 5 a year DDD:) In the hair chronicles, Massu has finally gotten a hair cut for Rescue, Shige's hot faux-hawk is growing out and it's still okay looking. Ryo's got his RnK hair, Koyama's got hair that's really flippy and Pi's hair is a bit curly.
Summertime PV : I have a weakness for this song too, it's bouncy and happy and I'll tell you my real reason why later on. So Massu stumbles into the cabin and sees their photobook lying around, he opens it and boom! CGI of NEWS everywhere (we're also treated to a slo-mo of the boys running in the beginning, sort of like in Baywatch except without the boobs). Random things I've observed - Pi uses a banana as a phone, Ryo thinks a floatie is the same as a hula hoop, Shige looks really fine in glasses, Koyama is extremely cute here, Massu looks really adorable when he's doing a sad!puppy face and Tegoshi is getting just a bit sluttier and really protective of his smoothie. Btw, Ryo shouldn't be allowed to wash clothes ever (but we all know he's actually a homebody) plus I love the Ryo+ Massu hug at the end.
(1) so it's the Utaban performance and I forgot to mention this is another Russ-K song, which should explain why they're always in t-shirts and casual wear.
(2) this is a Koyama/TegoMass performance at SC. We see once again proof of Massu's questionable fashion choices and Koyama, wth kind of shirt is that and Tegoshi, that huge vest thingy should go, other than that, looking good!
(3) MS as usual. Ryo looks good in slacks doesn't he? They fit him so well! And no I'm not totally focused down there. Can I help it if that's where I look to nowadays? Too many korean hip thrusts.
(4) customary Hey!Hey!Hey! performance where I laugh at Tegoshi's poor choice of wearing a hat cos he ends up with one hand on it at all times. Also the main reason why I love this song - in the beginning (I think it's cut off here but go dl the episode) Ryo walks onstage with a yellow tank top on and the green t-shirt is half on. I'm so easy like that.
Happy Birthday PV : I don't know what to say and this is entirely personal preference, but I hate this PV and I rather dislike the song as well. Freaking Johnny needs to give NEWS a bigger budget, we're not asking for much here, maybe 1/3 of what K-T gets or even 1/5 of what Arashi gets? Because this is basically them with a green backdrop holding onto cardboard wine glasses + wine bottles. I know you can afford to give them real wine bottles Johnny!
(1) them live at MS and nope, live doesn't make the song any better for me.
(2) Hey!Hey!Hey! performance and I didn't let it load enough to tell you what happens here, except Massu's got the billowy pants again which is apparently part of his costume for this promotion.
(3) for CDTV and they're at Tokyo Dome. Tegoshi makes kissy faces at the beginning, Pi's got his Code Blue perm which once again, I'm not a huge fan of and Ryo's hair is looking a bit flat. Shige's hair got lighter too, same for the other videos but I didn't mention it then.
(4) Koyama/TegoMass performance at SC and I'm starting to think it's something akin to torture for me to watch so many lives of Happy Birthday at 3am when I should be sleeping. Btw, the song is a promotion for Kose products. Whoopee.
As you all have heard by now, "Koi no Abo" will be NEWS' single to be released on the 29th of April. The single is available in both RE and LE. Links lead to CDJapan and I know most of fandom downloads and whatnot but in case any of you actually want to support your idols, monetarily, there it is. LE comes with a dvd guys, yes fandom it comes with a dvd of select performances from their diamond con. But don't get all screaming fangirl on me yet people! Because we all know what this means right? Our chances of getting an actual dvd of the entire Diamond Con is now zero. Don't bother holding out hope, but if you want to, it's fine also - disillusioned fandom won't be a first. Btw, Kat-tun and HSJ are releasing an album and a concert dvd on the same day, respectively. (At least give us Ginza Rhapsody or Bambina, or Share, or Murarisuto or ordinary. How many Happy Birthday's do I have to sit through?)
The two questions we need to be asking as NEWS fangirls are : (1) What the hell did NEWS do to Johnny to get such crap treatment? and (2) What do NEWS have to do to Johnny to get not so crap treatment?
Other NEWS songs + live perfomances
I.ZA.NA.I.ZU.KI Summary : I'm not a huge fan of this song but it's still great. There's only six members here because both Ryo and Uchi were with K8 at the time. Summary was a concert held with Kat-tun as well.
(1) N.E.W.S. Con performance and it's hot, lol. Pi's dancing at the beginning isn't too bad and for the first time, purple has ceased to make me think of Barney. Anyway, keep your eye out at 1:27 for Shige's infamous kuchizuke wo hand lip movement. And since this is sort of an emo song, Ryo emos and like I've said before, no one, I repeat no one, emos like Nishikido Ryo does.
Hadashi no Cinderella Boy : Love this song also, it's catchy and upbeat. Btw, Pi in tank top alert, showing off his arm muscles as he should be. I so approve. And for some odd reason, Ryo wrapping a towel around his hair should bother me, but it doesn't, I er, I actually like it a lot. Ahem, anyway, Ryo doesn't sound half bad and it's live, so that's saying a lot (I swear I'm actually a Ryo fangirl)
Vibration : For fellow Arashi fans, this is NEWS' version of La Tormenta. And for those non-Arashi fans, this is an introductory rap of each member made by another member. Follow me? It's basically Ryo introducing Massu who then introduces Shige who proceeds to rap about Koyama who does the introduction for Tegoshi who then does Yamapi who in the end raps about Ryo. Still with me? The raps are self-written and therefore a little on the bad side of things. Tegoshi's is the best by far and that's because he got help from Sho, who we all know is great at writing raps (cop-out cough).
Shock Me vs Devil or Angel : A mix of two songs, Shock Me and Devil or Angel, and this is the freaking best live ever. The boys split into two teams (red = shock me = Massu, Koyama and Pi, blue = devil or angel = Tegoshi, Shige and Ryo) and sort of duel each other in dancing and singing. It's sort of sad that Koyama and Shige get like two lines each while the others get more but I got over it pretty quickly lol, sorry half-naked!Pi and hot!Ryo grinding does that to me. The dance sequences are pretty much epic and the boys are hot. Also keep an eye out for the end, Ryopi! <3
Ai no Matador : Another one of my favorite songs from NEWS. And really the one thing you must take note of in this performance is Koyama hiprolls. Koyama Keichiro rolls his hips and he does it damn well. Now tell me you didn't replay the first thirty seconds seven times (unless of course you've seen this clip before, then you've replayed it only five times). Other than that it's another spanish influenced song and it's catchy. Pi's missing for a bit in the beginning cos this follows his solo Gomen ne Juliet and dude needs a few seconds to change his clothes (despite the fact that he strips down in his solo). The dance moves for this song are also quite good, I really like that part where it's almost as if they're taking off their suit jackets lol.
Dreams : From the N.E.W.S. Con DVD and god it's so beautiful and just really touching. For those of you who are new to fandom, the Never Ending Wonder Story (N.E.W.S.) Con is the concert held right after their hiatus and it belongs to them. And to their fans who have waited for that day. This song is beautiful because of that. Ryo ad-libs, changing some of the lyrics to NEWS are right here in front of me / A NEWS that no one knows about again and this entire performance is raw and emotional. Both Koyama and Shige sort of cry. The PV itself for this is wonderfully made with the light effects and the audience, it's really just about the boys and them <3
Snow Express : For the longest time, Snow Express was only performed at concerts and it left many fans wondering, if and when it would be released. Well obviously it was released as a song on NEWS' newest album, Color. And this has got to be yet another favorite of mine (as most of the songs I mentioned here are lol) but something's different about the studio version. It's more polished and it's been cleaned up which I don't think would've bothered me before if I hadn't heard it being performed live first. But this is still nonetheless an amazing song and go appreciate it people.
Yume no Kazu Dake Ai Ga Umareru : This isn't the version I wanted to link you all to, this is the one from their Touch DVD whereas I wanted the one from the Pacific Con. Unfortunately that cannot be found so those of you who haven't dled the con yet, scroll down, find the links and do it immediately. This is another one of my favorites and I especially love the acapella version released in their first album, Touch.
Bambina : This is a fancam of both Why and Bambina (actually starts at 2:50). Bambina was released as a B-side to Taiyou no Namida and it's one of my favorite B-side releases to date. It's much more sexier than most of the normal NEWS songs and the Diamond Con is the first time it's been performed live (thank you Tegoshi!). I can't really tell much from the fancam and it sort of hurts to look at it cos it's a bit shaky (still thankful for the fancam) but I'm thinking the dance should be pretty hot.
NEWS Spring Con 2006 Medley : Hello there Yume no Kazu Dake being performed acapella! That alone makes this clip worth watching. It's basically Ryo and Pi singing why the rest harmonizes in the background. Anyway, following that is NEWS Nippon and then it's Hadashi no Cinderella Boy, and then it ends with Sayendou. So basically it's all songs I love and you should learn to also if you aren't already enamored.
Music Station Super Live : For this countdown NEWS performed a medley of Weeeek, Taiyou no Namida and Happy Birthday (because once again, they haven't come out with a new single in ages and I almost forgot how they sound). The songs are performed in that order and if only they didn't sing Happy Birthday, it would've been awesome. It's a solid performance I guess, I sort of scanned through this.
Old School Medley : It's titled as Old School Medley because I can't tell where it takes place Hey!Hey!Hey! and it's got Moriuchi in it, which let's face it kiddies, is pretty damn old. They perform NEWS Nippon, Arigatou Ima and Private Hearts. Lol even their costumes are old, Moriuchi is decked in ruffles, how vintage. But let us take another second and mourn what could've been if Moriuchi had stayed. Now let us think, "but if he had stayed, then NEWS wouldn't be NEWS and they wouldn't be who we know and love today". Cue the "awwws" everyone.
Koyama Keichiro Presents NEWS Medley : Starts out with another acapella of Yume no Kazu Dake leading into yet another NEWS Nippon which launches into Kibou~Yell~ and that leads to what is still one of my all time tops, Akaku Moyuru Taiyou and of course it ends with Cherish. It's eight-membered NEWS so both Uchi and Kusano are still here. Meaning the boys are looking skinny and in need of giant hamburgers again. For those anal OCDers who care, this is SC.

16 Cherish (Ryoji remix)Here we have old school NEWS again. If you listen carefully you'll hear both Uchi and Kusano, Moriuchi actually left before Touch was released. If you're a new fan and are interested in distinguishing between the voices of each member, this is not the album for you. Besides the fact that eight members sing, it's also harder to recognize their voices since they've grown since then (puberty yes!) and developed better vocals (Ryo!). I'm listening to the album right now and it's quite nostalgic. Anyway it's filled with quite a lot of classic NEWS hits, like NEWS Nippon, Akaku Moyuru Taiyou, I.ZA.NA.I.ZU.KI, Cherish, Kibou and of course the lovely acapella of Yume no Kazu Dake.

In my opinion, Pacific is their best album to date. Out of the fifteen songs, there's probably only one or two that I don't absolutely love, and even then I still somewhat like those songs. There's a good variety of songs here, good quality pop and of course there are the solos of various members. I've discussed most of these songs somewhere up there I think, so I'll talk about the ones I haven't yet. Kimi Omou Yoru has, for some odd reason, been a favorite of mine for quite a while. I like the smoother beats and the chorus is undeniably catchy. And the live performance in Pacific dvd is quite good. Then there's the last song, Sono Egao Boku ni Misete, which is another acapella song that's mostly led by Yamapi and Ryo again. I really wish this song was longer or that they'd perform this song live someday. It's definitely one of my favorite songs out of this album, which already houses some of my favorite NEWS songs so that's saying a lot. (In case anyone is wondering, it's Ryo that starts off, then Pi and it's Pi+Ryo with NEWS harmonizing in background).

I'm actually ashamed to admit that in writing this blurb, it's my first time listening to the Color album in full. Of course I've listened to the singles before and love them (exception being Happy Birthday D:) but the only other song I've heard off this album is ordinary and that's because I'm a Ryo fangirl. I've heard some of Mola and it's definitely not the type of song I perfer but to each their own. This is a solid album and I really do love some of the songs but somehow I'd rank it lowest out of all three studio releases. Anyway there's the long awaited release of Snow Express. And since I haven't listened to the album and I'm too lazy to do that now, I shall just ramble about what I do know...which is that ordinary is possibly plagiarized? Lol there were rumors afloat that Ryo copied off two ACIDMAN songs. I really don't care much either way, it's sort of a bummer that he's a songwriter and he might've lifted chords off some other group but hey, it's not like he caused a car accident, i mean lol really I don't care either way.
Commercials/Advertisements
NEWS has been advertising for popular clothing brand, Russ-K since the release of the single Weeeek and they followed that up with Summer Time. Here are some of the commercials they have done for them, (1) in which NEWS dances individually to Weeek and they all look really hot while doing it too. (2) NEWS gets paired off and the duos all dance to Weeeek (in a metal container of all places) as well while decked in some pretty chill clothes. In case you're wondering it's Pi+Shige, Massu+Tegoshi and Ryo+Koyama. Watch Massu stand there looking pretty and checking out his own ass while Tegoshi gives it his all and lol at Ryo who, let's face it, really needs a new pose besides the "hand on my hip" thing. There's also Pi+Massu+Koyama (hello there Koyapi, not obvious at all), and Shige+Ryo+Tegoshi (who sort of pretend one another do not exist, either that or they filmed it separately). ( 3) Some subbed CMs available for download and I just love Russ-K so much. (4) In this one they're now wearing suits and running around frantically to Summer Time. You get an awesome face from Tegoshi, Koyama and Ryo stripping off their ties and jackets, running past a Shige pigging out (side note, Ryo does a nice jump and he yawns/stretches awwwwww yesiamaryofangirl) and then we get Massu (and the rest of the boys) changing into their Russ-K tshirts in the van. So yes there's flashes of skin but sadly no, Pi's dressed already. (5) The new CM for Russ-K summer adverts. (6) A short making of clip no.5 and you get to see the boys running (all they do) and them jump into a pool = wet!NEWS :]
Now Lawsons CMs. (1) In which the boys find a Lawsons on a deserted island. Yep, makes total sense. (2) It's in Japanese and I have no clue what the hell is going on but ksjfbkh;sfksnh Massu makes the best damn bunny ever. (3) In which NEWS proves they have zero survival skills and would leave Tegoshi stuck in a tree for food (Expected more from you Massu!). (4) Some random advertising for a Christmas blanket that looks really small to me, sure it's not a Christmas table cloth? (5) Pi makes a fire with sticks (oooh ahhh) and Koyama sneezes (fail) while Shige watches (poor dude, can't even get a line in a CM). (6) After multiple playbacks I've decided that at 11pm I WANT SOME DAMN CHICKEN RYO.
And as I mentioned somewhere in the sea of words above, promotions for Kose with Happy Birthday (and here's how creative they are, the promotion is called Happy BATH Day. You're killing me here guys, killing me D:)
NEWS' Concert + Various other DLs
Hoshi wo Mezashite LE dvd : Not much to say because I haven't dled it yet lol. Needless to say I am doing so right now. Um, from what I remember of watching it on YT, you get to see the boys laughing and interacting. And my brain is telling me something about Ryopi and a mirror. Trust me to remember the Ryo and Pi moments.
Touch dvd : Another one I haven't dled or even seen I think. Odds are I won't be dling this one, I really dislike how starved they look in here. I swear, almost all of Johnny's idols could be poster boys for "Feed the Children" campaigns, except it'd be "Feed the Idols" talking about you here Subaru! Anyway, I lied, apparently I did see some of this or at least I saw the Ryo/Uchi scenes before. Ryo admits he is lost without Uchi and can't do anything without that boy. How ironic D:
Never Ending Wonderful Story DVD 1 2 3 4 : This is a MUST WATCH! Like if you plan on following any of my rambling advice, this is one that you have to follow. This is a complete gem for NEWS fans. It follows them on their concert tour around Japan and there are so many behind the scenes goodies and backstage stuff. Just some of the highlights (because I'm pushing to post this damn thing tonight) include the boys dancing during rehearsal (Koyama makes a fool of himself lol and Tegoshi's got some moves y'all, and hello there! Ryo dances half-naked, cam-whore), poor Koyama catches a cold (watch Tegoshi+Shige pay him a visit lol) and the members show something akin to member-ai, and an infamous scene where the boys go to an onsen to celebrate Pi's birthday (Koyama dear, would it have killed you to lower the camera another half-inch?!). The second two discs document NEWS' gourmet tour! At each location they stop at for the tour, a certain member is in charge of treating the members to that region's food (watch some of them be cheap and others show off their wealth). Keep an eye out for Shige who gets stuffed like a pig (dude's got a wide mouth, got to be useful for something that's all I'm saying). Oh right, er, NEWS manages to sing too and hold a concert in midst of all the other stuff they do, aren't they accomplished young men?
Pacific Concert dvd : I love this set of dvds too except the documentary sections really pale in comparison to the one in N.E.W.S. it's just not as good D: Anyway highlights here include a young little girl asking Ryo a question and of course our snarky boy answers masterfully, there's also a fan who gets a special gift from Ryo (adorable sfbjksfsjnklkn), the infamous scene in which Shige loses at cards (thanks to horny!Ryo who displays some leg here btw) and is forced to strip onstage later, and this is the concert where sempai Arashi show up (Sho+Nino) and the twerp kisses Ryo (you'll have to watch it to figure out who I mean by twerp, unless you already know), Massu declares himself a pig and introduces himself as xiao long bao and there's also that MC talk where Ryo shoves Shige's face into the front of his peen pants and it's revealed that healthy young men, such as Pi, Ryo and Shige who are totally not gay for one another discuss x-rated things while eating yakiniku.
Johnny's Countdown Concert 2007-2008 : It happens once every year (hence it's a New Year's Countdown) and this is a serious must watch, as is all countdown cons. Shiny gay fest of JE love! Watch and laugh at Ryo running up and down so he's introduced with both his groups. Then watch and laugh again, at him getting his ass kicked by Jin. Such hate, it's awesome. Arashi hosts this one in their highlighter neon yellow costumes.
Johnny's Countdown Concert 2008-2009 : This year it was held at different places across Japan (Osaka Dome where KinKi Kids were holding their 10th year anniversary concert, somewhere where Tackey held his butai and Tokyo Dome where all the other idols where, i.e. Arashi, NEWS, Kanjani8, Kat-tun, Johnny's Jrs. and HSJ kids). You should watch this because it's always fun to see the guys in JE intermingling, and finally Uchi was also allowed on stage himself (granted he wasn't allowed to even LOOK at the other boys). I do believe there was some really gay!Jun but then again when is he not? Um, there's also some Pin interaction going on. And you get to watch Ryo being frazzled and running around to be in two groups at the same time. I laugh. Hard.
Shounen Club Appearances 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 : The various times NEWS has appeared on SC throughout the years. Links for the first three are pre-suspension and the ones after are therefore post-hiatus. In the fourth link appears the highly amusing and must watch NEWS wo Abake, in which NEWS is blindfolded and asked questions where they reveal the truths about their fellow members, not to worry fangirls, the mikes are altered so their voices are different though that's really bullshit and they know exactly who's talking crap about who. The second NEWS no abake is in the ninth link which is also a veoh streaming link, so no unlocked dl for that one I'm afraid. The fourth link is also NEWS return to SC and it's epic and awesome just because of that, so watch it now. And clip six features Shige stripping, or almost stripping because once again it's Koyama who denies us the pleasure of naked!idols (dude, why so protective?). Clip eleven talks about how much the boys cry I guess real men do cry. Don't remember much of clip 12.
Summer Time Making Of PV : I don't remember if I watched it and I'm too lazy to go find my external HD so I'm told that Massu and Shige are adorable in this. There you have it, two reasons to dl this clip.
Domoto Kyoudai 1 2 : Both of these NEWS appearances are subbed by Baka no Sekai (BNS) subbing team and their LJ community is locked. Please go to their forum and search for the links, I have the MU direct links but I don't like the idea of re-upping something they specifically locked and required membership to download. So don't be lazy guys cos these are some good episodes. It's hosted by the Domoto dudes from KinKi Kids and really these are must watches. If you've seen that clip of Ryo doing his Gachapin impression or if you've ever wondered how he got that nickname, go download this and find out.
Hey!Hey!Hey! Appearances 1 2 3 4 5 6 : These are the subbed appearances of NEWS on the variety show Hey!Hey!Hey! It's really funny and the show is hosted by a duo of comedians called Downtown (one is bald and one isn't? Lol, the other one is kinda short). There's one where two members of Kanjani8 appear (Yoko+Hina so you know it's a funny episode) and they discuss the inequalities of being in NEWS and being in K8. Poor Kansai boys! I love you and this is still not your pimp post. The hosts pick on all the boys and they seem to have an affection for Tegoshi in particular (and you should watch if you're a Tegoshi fan because he gets a lot of spotlight). The first three are links to the full subbed episodes and the last two are links to them performing songs. So other things that happen in Heyx3, despite member-ai being in full bloom, the boys don't really eat together at all. It's usually Pi and Ryo (duh!) and sometimes Shige tags along as well. The others? Fail. There's also that hilarious retelling of where the boys prank Koyama about Pi quitting NEWS, and there's Pi divulging how Koyama acts at karaoke (and a really laugh inducing example from Koyama himself).
Music Fighter : A pretty funny variety episode imo. The boys go on the show and the female host is blindfolded while the boys discuss their plans for a "dream date" with her (of course their voices are masked once again). Lol all of them end up doing activities that if you were to put in fic terms, would be NC-17. Oh yes, you know you want to download this. Not telling who wins but it's not such a big surprise. (Oh and I for one would so pick Ryo, I don't know why you all say his movie isn't romantic :DDD)
Osama no Brunch : A really short interview and lol at Ryo's skills with the lady interviewer, such a smooth operator really.
Sakigake Vegas : NEWS promote Taiyou no Namida and they discuss how old Shige really is.
Utaban 1 2 3 4 5 : Funny and MUST DOWNLOAD. Nakai is the most awesome sempai ever (maybe Taichi too because I love that little man). He makes fun of them and especially Ryo for having a face like the sole of a foot! And honestly, how many people do you think Ryo lets insult him like that? Not many. Anyway the third episode if a gem. It's the awesome shocking!NEWS episode where the boys are forced to sit in chairs and answer trivia questions, if any of the members gets one wrong, they all get shocked and since it's Utaban, they get shocked even when they're right. The last two clips are random short appearances by NEWS and sort of boring so if I were to give you a summary it'd be "zzzz."
Chinchin Puipui : This show is actually based in Osaka and therefore Ryo has appeared on it numerous times with Eito but this is the first appearance with NEWS. Tegoshi reveals something about Ryo and it's supposed to be embarrassing but I find it absolutely adorable once again yes I am the Ryo fangirl.
Zoom In! 1 2 : Um, they promote Weeek and their new album. I sort of tuned out cos it's boring. Second one, I can't remember either lol except the lady makes a mistake and refers to Pi as a HSJ kid lol.
Music Station 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 : Another show with the Johnny boybands make regular appearances on. All they really do it talk for a few minutes, sing and then sit and pretend to be interested in the other musicians unless they really are I can't tell the difference. First one contains two performances, one for Hoshi wo Mezashite, which features Arashi in the same episode. Jun+Ryo interactions (someone write more fics about their bitchy friendship now!) and another with Sayaendo in it as well. Second link they perform Weeeek looking like they're on crack and happy. The third clip is them at MSSL 2007 and I can't quite remember what happens except I think they sing live and suck and Ryo trips over his own feet. Once again, smooth operator. Fourth one features one of two live performances of Taiyou no Namida. This one features wet!NEWS and hot damn they look really good wet (damn Ryo somehow manages to stay dry. Idiot.). Clip six is for Summer Time and I can't remember what happens so blah. Seventh link is for Happy Birthday and it's another boring talk. It's this episode of MS though that Ryo has to appear twice as both NEWS and Eito, so they pester him a bit about that. The eight clip is MSSL 2008 and they sing a medley of Summer Time + Taiyou no Namida + Happy Birthday. Nothing remarkable except Massu's cut his hair for Rescue and Ryo's got his bowl hair because RnK finished filming and because he's a dimwit.
NEWS Fanclub Interview : Ah, another clip I haven't seen before! But based on the screencap there's Kusano and anorexic!Pi and a not so bad looking Ryo.
Countdown TV SP : NEWS does a medley of Weeeek + Taiyou no Namida + Happy Birthday. And it's sort of boring too, NEWS isn't really too good at short talks lol.
Prince 2 Promo : The boys promote their newest album and I haven't seen this either because this was right around the time I sort of fell out of JE fandom and got sucked into DBSK.

NEWS PVs (aka what we Americans call Music Videos and the Japanese call Promotional Videos) and live performances linked.
NEWS Nippon PV : Original nine-membered NEWS! Of course they're all incredibly skinny and in need of being force fed by IV drip. Nothing too great or exciting to be found in his PV, there's the regular Johnny hand motions and dance moves. Obviously Pi gets the most time on screen and the good vocalist Moriuchi makes his appearance (damn why'd you have to leave?!), followed by Ryo + Uchi (they're practically married pre-Uchi suspension) and then Tegoshi + Massu get some lines, and of course Koyama + Shige + Kusano get practically nothing. Since there's nine members, the whole Go North Go East Go West Go South thing is really messy, it gets better later on in the years (but it's still as corny).
(1) In this clip the song is performed live somewhere (most likely FNS) and they wear some sort of weird blue shirt that resembles something a cowboy would wear (in other words, standard Johnny's wear). And it's missing Ryo who unfortunately was mia in some stuff cos he was in Eito too at the same time. So Pi still looks anorexic, Uchi's hair makes him look like a girl, Tegoshi looks like the dorky younger brother you'd make fun of, Massu looks adorable and still as cute as he does now, Koyama is also basically the same, Shige is not as hot as he is now, and Kusano looks like...Kusano.
(2) Live at their N.E.W.S. Con we have what we now know as NEWS (meaning six members). Ryo's hot (I'm biased and skipping through the video). Oh and in case you're wondering, Shige's still not that hot yet.
(3) They're at MS and honestly, do they really need like 3985786 backup dancers on top of the fact that they have nine members dancing around? It makes for an extremely messy performance.
(4) Still nine-membered NEWS, this time live at Pop Jam (does that still exist?) anyway, it's still messy and the only thing that is different is NEWS tries to be cool and do some acrobatics (Um, Massu and someone-I-can't-see-the-face-of I am told it's Uchi? do backflips and Pi jumps over them, nimble isn't he?)
Kibou ~ Yell~ PV : Bounce bounce bounce with me! And now Moriuchi has made his departure and we're left with eight-membered NEWS, who are still stick thin and not looking much better than they were the first time we saw them. Of course their costumes sort of got worse, because instead of astronaut suits, they've now donned ill-fitting suits with a tacky red rose pattern. They are still paired off the same and unfortunately Ryo sounds really whiny and looks really small still (plus his hair ugh). Oh and if we're going to mention hair, I'm not a big fan of Pi's dirty blond with light blond highlights, I seriously think he looks like a washed out drug addict. And more random english just for kicks, V I C T O R Y FLY TO HIGH WITH NEWS!!
(1) So they're on Hey!Hey!Hey! and instead of ill-fitting white tacky suits, we get ill-fitting red suits, although they aren't as tacky now (but still obviously recycled). Yay! And who else loves how Pi is the only one that gets a loosely knotted tie? Not a show of favoritism at all (although he does look good with that tie...). Oh but we do get multicolored balloons falling from the ceiling a la prom night and no, Shige is still not hot and yes, Tegoshi still looks like a dorky brother.
(2) N.E.W.S. dvd performance and Shige's highlights sort of remind me of Pepe le Pew, a um, cartoon skunk. They're wearing sparkly red jackets (it's Johnny's so when I say sparkly, I mean sparkly) and have some type of dead fur hanging off their shoulders. They also take turns jumping off that circular moving platform and I know the six of them don't weigh much but that thing shook so much I thought they'd fall off or something. Of course they didn't, and then I sort of was left hoping they would've (might have been more exciting that way)
(3) Pacific Con performance of Kibou. Okay so seriously, they're all looking hot here (especially Ryo with his Last Friends hair and yep hot!Shige appears). Oh and trivia, that smiley face on the towels and shirts was actually designed by Massu. There's also an appearance from Sho and Nino of Arashi (and they attempt to do some hand movements too, guess they did their hw before coming). Ryo also sort of forgets to sing a line, which Tegoshi kindly points out by laughing at him.
Akaku Moyuru Taiyou PV : I LOVE THIS SONG SO HARD. It's sort of harder and more techno than their other happy pop fare and it's really awesome (NEWS could be the techno group of JE! Lol). Pi really should stick to black hair, or it's just that he's so skinny I don't like looking at him. Also their dance moves are really just bad even by Johnny standards. Still messy because I'm probably so used to six membered NEWS that anything more sort of makes the OCD in me go, "OMG NO! MESSED UP." They also wear fuzzy cardigans in either turquoise blue or an ugly mustard yellow (of course Pi is exempt as usual).
(1) Some live with all eight members. Pi's hair is sort of weird in this, it's tied up and sort of clipped somehow (apparently like an ahjumma, or in japanese terms, like an obaachan) but the dancing is better here.
(2) N.E.W.S. Con with flying Ryo! This was the first performance I ever saw for this song and was immediately hooked. It's a great song to perform live and it's one that really rouses the audience. I still love the dance towards the end and hot damn would you look at Massu go?
Cherish PV : Everyone knows this song so I'm sure it doesn't need to be introduced. It's awesome, end of story. Besides they're all wearing jeans + tshirts which means they're looking better than before. Sure it's still corny (what with their faces on the skyscrapers and all that) but it's better. They've each got a pink glove on their right hand and at least it looks uniformed.
(1) Shounen Club performance with lots of Jrs. backdancing for them and a crowd of fangirls in the background. Tegoshi is looking better and less dorky, now he's elevated to the status of geeky cousin. There's some more weird dance moves here.
(2) Music Station live and there are more Jrs. than NEWS members again. I'm also not sure what's up with Ryo's hair but I swear my dad's done that side-swept thing before and he's like 50+.
(3) They're at Utaban and Ryo's hair is much better here. His solo part actually sounds good too so either it's recorded or he's actually sounding good (I say the first choice, not because I don't have faith in Ryo's singing but because it's Johnny and it's almost always recorded)
(4) DVD performance from N.E.W.S. Con and they're looking hot in black suits. I love Ryo's bangs D: Serious fetish, sorry.
Teppen PV : What can I say about this PV? It's basically boys having fun, and since we love our boys happy, it puts a smile on my face. There's some genuine water splashing going on and it really looks like fun was had.
(1) at N.E.W.S. Concert, there's more NEWS flying around on wires. Of course it's a wise choice to let the three best live singers fly around though (and in case you're not aware of who those three are, it's Massu, Tegoshi and Pi)
(2) Music Station appearance and they're missing Ryo and Uchi again due to Eito obligations. Pi's hair is looking a lot better.
(3) Hey!Hey!Hey! performance where Kusano looks gangster, or pretends to be at least. Ryo looks crazy cos he's smiling manically, Tegoshi looks like the little kid he was, and Pi's outfit is definitely too busy.
(4) they're at Music Fighter and it's basically the same as above.
Sayaendou PV : Another one of my favorite songs, I really love this song. I believe it was my second favorite after I first got into NEWS. It's got a bit of spanish flair, as obvious by some of their lyrics. This cute PV features cartoon!NEWS as pirates :DD And who doesn't laugh hard at the first picture of flailing cartoon!Ryo? and why is cartoon!Massu just as cute (btw, what the heck is that thing on his head? Lol I swear Pebbles from the Flintstones has that too and she's a she unless it's a slab of meat which is then acceptable). Watch this PV, you'll love it for sure.
(1) Concert performance and it's kind of eh for me but still love this song and I am not ashamed to admit I know the hand movements to this song...(or maybe I am slightly ashamed)
Hoshi wo Mezashite PV : Their first song since their hiatus! I won't lie, that fact alone makes me love this song so much harder. And it's really not a bad song either. They sing to a um body double? Well they sort of sing to a moodier version of themselves. Pi's hair is a bit funky, it's permed or something and makes him look a bit like a wet poodle. Other than that they all look pretty good, and it's post-suspension Shige! Which means he gets better looking and actually grows a pair (I'm talking down below), so he's much more alluring somehow lol. Ryo's hair makes me sfbg;skfgnjsfbsjkgnsjfkh <3
(1) SC performance, which is always nice. The vocals are pretty good, save for a few mistakes, and Pi's hair is a lot better here. Their outfits are hot, it's a gold trimmed black thing and they are rocking it. And for those of you who have been awaiting it, hot!Shige is here. He's got his hair cut and it's that faux-hawk thing which is definitely one I wouldn't mind seeing him don again. Ryo is wearing a hat, which he is prone to doing because he's got a hat fetish.
(2) looks like a live performance at possibly SCP? But I'm not too sure, the video doesn't specify. Anyway we've got Pi with really flat, black hair and pre-hot!Shige, thank god Ryo's looking good lol. And it's not that I don't love Koyama, Tegoshi or Massu when I don't mention them, but they always look the same. Massu and Koyama especially.
(3) Concert performance and they all look good and sound good as well. I actually really like how Tegoshi is looking during this period, not at all slutty and just pretty.
(4) Yet another live and it's actually live (at Hey!Hey!Hey! for those who actually care), for the most part anyway. Some of the commenters seem to think Pi is the only one lip-syncing and I won't bother to listen that closely to tell. But Tegoshi is definitely singing live, and so is Ryo because his voice is um worse lol. After that I stopped paying attention, oh I love Massu's little jump in the performance though.
(5) live at Music Fighter and it's a good one! Lol well I mean, judging by appearances only and okay I admit that I know the hand movements for this dance too DD: And you know what though? You would also if you've had to watch five different videos of the same song for a pimp post on top of the gazillions of times I've watched this song being performed!! Pi's hair is much much better here, in fact I like it a lot lol. They're all smiley too during the chorus which sort of makes the fangirl in me squeal just a bit.
(6) MS and this is actually an acapella performance. I actually haven't seen or heard this version before. I had some qualms about it cos we're talking about a Johnny's group singing acapella when I'm used to hearing DBSK level of acapella. I obviously didn't judge NEWS by the same standards and I'm actually surprised, it's not bad at all! Granted there wasn't many attempts at harmonizing and most of them were made by Tegoshi or Massu. The ad-libs by Tegoshi were fairly good. Plus, they still look hot.
Weeeek PV : It took me a while to learn there were four e's in NEWS' weeeek. Anyway, another one of my favorite songs and it's actually penned by Greeeen which sort of explains it. NEWS in suits and the rest should be self-explanatory. Another one of my fetishes is men in suits, and this is hot men in suits. All members look amazing and this is actually a song for Russ-K, which they campaign for. The PV is a mix of the boys jumping around crazily while randomly humping Shige's poster and them appearing in comics. Either way I love this PV cos it's sort of nuts and they're all huggy and friendly with one another. Plus, keep your eye on Ryo cos he seriously lets loose and I swear to god, if you let him go like that, Ryo becomes a rapid dog in heat and it's worth noting that if you like Ryo when he's like this, you should go check out Kanjani8 stuff cos that's how he acts all the time there (this type of song is also really well suited to his voice)
(1) Pacific Con performance and this was their opening song. They seriously all look smoking hot and I wasn't kidding about this being the type of song Ryo's good at, his live ain't bad at all, it's actually good. Plus you see them all in their respective colors and yellow!Massu is the cutest thing.
(2) at Utaban and in their normal clothing, or as normal as Johnny gets (which is still brightly colored sweaters). There's evidence here of Massu's billowy pants which I couldn't find a picture of earlier. They're all a bit hyper and high here, so there's loads of jumping around and emphatic dancing/hand movements. But honestly if the others were on crack, Ryo was on crack + dope cos he's skipping like a little fairyboy and that's sort of not normal (I say sort of cos of Eito stuff). Oh and worth a mention, Ryo's all over Shige in this pv and he shows his member-ai by grabbing Koyama's hair and not letting go. What love!
(3) them at Hey!Hey!Hey! and there's more happy boys jumping around. Some more Ryo/Shige interaction and there's a huge burst of shiny streamers towards the end.
(4) Music Fighter appearance and it's basically the same as the above ones except Massu's on Koyama like white on rice :D
(5) Another weeek performance and I'm getting bored guys, so I'll stop now.
Taiyou no Namida PV : Hello there favorite PV of all time :DD It's a great song and we're treated to 4+ minutes of our boys emo style. Can it get any better? Right, I forgot to mention that there's rain, as in the boys get wet, as in hot and wet boys :DD (much abused of ":D" will be made here so skip ahead if you don't wish to read). Pi, needless to say is awesome at emoing cos he's Pi and because he hardly smiles anyway so he knows how to work the angst. Koyama looks sufficiently sad whereas Massu, poor Massu looks as if somebody just ate his bento DD: Shige looks pissed and about ready to kick someone's ass and Tegoshi does a good sad!boy face as well. And here we go, Ryo! We've paid attention yes? We realize that I'm a huge Ryo fangirl and that Ryo was born to emo? Well then, insert rapid keysmash here because he's fucking hot here (well they all are). Oh and dorky!Pi makes an appearance towards the end with his cups lol.
(1) live at Utaban, nothing special besides the fact that they're still all looking gorgeous and fine. Oh and this single served as the themesong to Kurosagi, Pi's movie.
(2) this SC performance has them in different outfits than the others, they're decked in orangeish, blackish and silverish outfits. That may sound like a halloween costume gone wrong (and it might be, too many Eito performances makes me a bad judge) but it's really not bad.
(3) at Pacific Con and they're all happy and giggly which doesn't really match the song but hey, looking good.
(4) FNS live during christmas of 2008, because they haven't released a single since forever (while Arashi releases like 5 a year DDD:) In the hair chronicles, Massu has finally gotten a hair cut for Rescue, Shige's hot faux-hawk is growing out and it's still okay looking. Ryo's got his RnK hair, Koyama's got hair that's really flippy and Pi's hair is a bit curly.
Summertime PV : I have a weakness for this song too, it's bouncy and happy and I'll tell you my real reason why later on. So Massu stumbles into the cabin and sees their photobook lying around, he opens it and boom! CGI of NEWS everywhere (we're also treated to a slo-mo of the boys running in the beginning, sort of like in Baywatch except without the boobs). Random things I've observed - Pi uses a banana as a phone, Ryo thinks a floatie is the same as a hula hoop, Shige looks really fine in glasses, Koyama is extremely cute here, Massu looks really adorable when he's doing a sad!puppy face and Tegoshi is getting just a bit sluttier and really protective of his smoothie. Btw, Ryo shouldn't be allowed to wash clothes ever (but we all know he's actually a homebody) plus I love the Ryo+ Massu hug at the end.
(1) so it's the Utaban performance and I forgot to mention this is another Russ-K song, which should explain why they're always in t-shirts and casual wear.
(2) this is a Koyama/TegoMass performance at SC. We see once again proof of Massu's questionable fashion choices and Koyama, wth kind of shirt is that and Tegoshi, that huge vest thingy should go, other than that, looking good!
(3) MS as usual. Ryo looks good in slacks doesn't he? They fit him so well! And no I'm not totally focused down there. Can I help it if that's where I look to nowadays? Too many korean hip thrusts.
(4) customary Hey!Hey!Hey! performance where I laugh at Tegoshi's poor choice of wearing a hat cos he ends up with one hand on it at all times. Also the main reason why I love this song - in the beginning (I think it's cut off here but go dl the episode) Ryo walks onstage with a yellow tank top on and the green t-shirt is half on. I'm so easy like that.
Happy Birthday PV : I don't know what to say and this is entirely personal preference, but I hate this PV and I rather dislike the song as well. Freaking Johnny needs to give NEWS a bigger budget, we're not asking for much here, maybe 1/3 of what K-T gets or even 1/5 of what Arashi gets? Because this is basically them with a green backdrop holding onto cardboard wine glasses + wine bottles. I know you can afford to give them real wine bottles Johnny!
(1) them live at MS and nope, live doesn't make the song any better for me.
(2) Hey!Hey!Hey! performance and I didn't let it load enough to tell you what happens here, except Massu's got the billowy pants again which is apparently part of his costume for this promotion.
(3) for CDTV and they're at Tokyo Dome. Tegoshi makes kissy faces at the beginning, Pi's got his Code Blue perm which once again, I'm not a huge fan of and Ryo's hair is looking a bit flat. Shige's hair got lighter too, same for the other videos but I didn't mention it then.
(4) Koyama/TegoMass performance at SC and I'm starting to think it's something akin to torture for me to watch so many lives of Happy Birthday at 3am when I should be sleeping. Btw, the song is a promotion for Kose products. Whoopee.
As you all have heard by now, "Koi no Abo" will be NEWS' single to be released on the 29th of April. The single is available in both RE and LE. Links lead to CDJapan and I know most of fandom downloads and whatnot but in case any of you actually want to support your idols, monetarily, there it is. LE comes with a dvd guys, yes fandom it comes with a dvd of select performances from their diamond con. But don't get all screaming fangirl on me yet people! Because we all know what this means right? Our chances of getting an actual dvd of the entire Diamond Con is now zero. Don't bother holding out hope, but if you want to, it's fine also - disillusioned fandom won't be a first. Btw, Kat-tun and HSJ are releasing an album and a concert dvd on the same day, respectively. (At least give us Ginza Rhapsody or Bambina, or Share, or Murarisuto or ordinary. How many Happy Birthday's do I have to sit through?)
The two questions we need to be asking as NEWS fangirls are : (1) What the hell did NEWS do to Johnny to get such crap treatment? and (2) What do NEWS have to do to Johnny to get not so crap treatment?
Other NEWS songs + live perfomances
I.ZA.NA.I.ZU.KI Summary : I'm not a huge fan of this song but it's still great. There's only six members here because both Ryo and Uchi were with K8 at the time. Summary was a concert held with Kat-tun as well.
(1) N.E.W.S. Con performance and it's hot, lol. Pi's dancing at the beginning isn't too bad and for the first time, purple has ceased to make me think of Barney. Anyway, keep your eye out at 1:27 for Shige's infamous kuchizuke wo hand lip movement. And since this is sort of an emo song, Ryo emos and like I've said before, no one, I repeat no one, emos like Nishikido Ryo does.
Hadashi no Cinderella Boy : Love this song also, it's catchy and upbeat. Btw, Pi in tank top alert, showing off his arm muscles as he should be. I so approve. And for some odd reason, Ryo wrapping a towel around his hair should bother me, but it doesn't, I er, I actually like it a lot. Ahem, anyway, Ryo doesn't sound half bad and it's live, so that's saying a lot (I swear I'm actually a Ryo fangirl)
Vibration : For fellow Arashi fans, this is NEWS' version of La Tormenta. And for those non-Arashi fans, this is an introductory rap of each member made by another member. Follow me? It's basically Ryo introducing Massu who then introduces Shige who proceeds to rap about Koyama who does the introduction for Tegoshi who then does Yamapi who in the end raps about Ryo. Still with me? The raps are self-written and therefore a little on the bad side of things. Tegoshi's is the best by far and that's because he got help from Sho, who we all know is great at writing raps (cop-out cough).
Shock Me vs Devil or Angel : A mix of two songs, Shock Me and Devil or Angel, and this is the freaking best live ever. The boys split into two teams (red = shock me = Massu, Koyama and Pi, blue = devil or angel = Tegoshi, Shige and Ryo) and sort of duel each other in dancing and singing. It's sort of sad that Koyama and Shige get like two lines each while the others get more but I got over it pretty quickly lol, sorry half-naked!Pi and hot!Ryo grinding does that to me. The dance sequences are pretty much epic and the boys are hot. Also keep an eye out for the end, Ryopi! <3
Ai no Matador : Another one of my favorite songs from NEWS. And really the one thing you must take note of in this performance is Koyama hiprolls. Koyama Keichiro rolls his hips and he does it damn well. Now tell me you didn't replay the first thirty seconds seven times (unless of course you've seen this clip before, then you've replayed it only five times). Other than that it's another spanish influenced song and it's catchy. Pi's missing for a bit in the beginning cos this follows his solo Gomen ne Juliet and dude needs a few seconds to change his clothes (despite the fact that he strips down in his solo). The dance moves for this song are also quite good, I really like that part where it's almost as if they're taking off their suit jackets lol.
Dreams : From the N.E.W.S. Con DVD and god it's so beautiful and just really touching. For those of you who are new to fandom, the Never Ending Wonder Story (N.E.W.S.) Con is the concert held right after their hiatus and it belongs to them. And to their fans who have waited for that day. This song is beautiful because of that. Ryo ad-libs, changing some of the lyrics to NEWS are right here in front of me / A NEWS that no one knows about again and this entire performance is raw and emotional. Both Koyama and Shige sort of cry. The PV itself for this is wonderfully made with the light effects and the audience, it's really just about the boys and them <3
Snow Express : For the longest time, Snow Express was only performed at concerts and it left many fans wondering, if and when it would be released. Well obviously it was released as a song on NEWS' newest album, Color. And this has got to be yet another favorite of mine (as most of the songs I mentioned here are lol) but something's different about the studio version. It's more polished and it's been cleaned up which I don't think would've bothered me before if I hadn't heard it being performed live first. But this is still nonetheless an amazing song and go appreciate it people.
Yume no Kazu Dake Ai Ga Umareru : This isn't the version I wanted to link you all to, this is the one from their Touch DVD whereas I wanted the one from the Pacific Con. Unfortunately that cannot be found so those of you who haven't dled the con yet, scroll down, find the links and do it immediately. This is another one of my favorites and I especially love the acapella version released in their first album, Touch.
Bambina : This is a fancam of both Why and Bambina (actually starts at 2:50). Bambina was released as a B-side to Taiyou no Namida and it's one of my favorite B-side releases to date. It's much more sexier than most of the normal NEWS songs and the Diamond Con is the first time it's been performed live (thank you Tegoshi!). I can't really tell much from the fancam and it sort of hurts to look at it cos it's a bit shaky (still thankful for the fancam) but I'm thinking the dance should be pretty hot.
NEWS Spring Con 2006 Medley : Hello there Yume no Kazu Dake being performed acapella! That alone makes this clip worth watching. It's basically Ryo and Pi singing why the rest harmonizes in the background. Anyway, following that is NEWS Nippon and then it's Hadashi no Cinderella Boy, and then it ends with Sayendou. So basically it's all songs I love and you should learn to also if you aren't already enamored.
Music Station Super Live : For this countdown NEWS performed a medley of Weeeek, Taiyou no Namida and Happy Birthday (because once again, they haven't come out with a new single in ages and I almost forgot how they sound). The songs are performed in that order and if only they didn't sing Happy Birthday, it would've been awesome. It's a solid performance I guess, I sort of scanned through this.
Old School Medley : It's titled as Old School Medley because I can't tell where it takes place Hey!Hey!Hey! and it's got Moriuchi in it, which let's face it kiddies, is pretty damn old. They perform NEWS Nippon, Arigatou Ima and Private Hearts. Lol even their costumes are old, Moriuchi is decked in ruffles, how vintage. But let us take another second and mourn what could've been if Moriuchi had stayed. Now let us think, "but if he had stayed, then NEWS wouldn't be NEWS and they wouldn't be who we know and love today". Cue the "awwws" everyone.
Koyama Keichiro Presents NEWS Medley : Starts out with another acapella of Yume no Kazu Dake leading into yet another NEWS Nippon which launches into Kibou~Yell~ and that leads to what is still one of my all time tops, Akaku Moyuru Taiyou and of course it ends with Cherish. It's eight-membered NEWS so both Uchi and Kusano are still here. Meaning the boys are looking skinny and in need of giant hamburgers again. For those anal OCDers who care, this is SC.

Besides the fact that eight members sing, it's also harder to recognize their voices since they've grown since then (puberty yes!) and developed better vocals (Ryo!). I'm listening to the album right now and it's quite nostalgic. Anyway it's filled with quite a lot of classic NEWS hits, like NEWS Nippon, Akaku Moyuru Taiyou, I.ZA.NA.I.ZU.KI, Cherish, Kibou and of course the lovely acapella of Yume no Kazu Dake.

In my opinion, Pacific is their best album to date. Out of the fifteen songs, there's probably only one or two that I don't absolutely love, and even then I still somewhat like those songs. There's a good variety of songs here, good quality pop and of course there are the solos of various members. I've discussed most of these songs somewhere up there I think, so I'll talk about the ones I haven't yet. Kimi Omou Yoru has, for some odd reason, been a favorite of mine for quite a while. I like the smoother beats and the chorus is undeniably catchy. And the live performance in Pacific dvd is quite good. Then there's the last song, Sono Egao Boku ni Misete, which is another acapella song that's mostly led by Yamapi and Ryo again. I really wish this song was longer or that they'd perform this song live someday. It's definitely one of my favorite songs out of this album, which already houses some of my favorite NEWS songs so that's saying a lot. (In case anyone is wondering, it's Ryo that starts off, then Pi and it's Pi+Ryo with NEWS harmonizing in background).

I'm actually ashamed to admit that in writing this blurb, it's my first time listening to the Color album in full. Of course I've listened to the singles before and love them (exception being Happy Birthday D:) but the only other song I've heard off this album is ordinary and that's because I'm a Ryo fangirl. I've heard some of Mola and it's definitely not the type of song I perfer but to each their own. This is a solid album and I really do love some of the songs but somehow I'd rank it lowest out of all three studio releases. Anyway there's the long awaited release of Snow Express. And since I haven't listened to the album and I'm too lazy to do that now, I shall just ramble about what I do know...which is that ordinary is possibly plagiarized? Lol there were rumors afloat that Ryo copied off two ACIDMAN songs. I really don't care much either way, it's sort of a bummer that he's a songwriter and he might've lifted chords off some other group but hey, it's not like he caused a car accident, i mean lol really I don't care either way.
Commercials/Advertisements
NEWS has been advertising for popular clothing brand, Russ-K since the release of the single Weeeek and they followed that up with Summer Time. Here are some of the commercials they have done for them, (1) in which NEWS dances individually to Weeek and they all look really hot while doing it too. (2) NEWS gets paired off and the duos all dance to Weeeek (in a metal container of all places) as well while decked in some pretty chill clothes. In case you're wondering it's Pi+Shige, Massu+Tegoshi and Ryo+Koyama. Watch Massu stand there looking pretty and checking out his own ass while Tegoshi gives it his all and lol at Ryo who, let's face it, really needs a new pose besides the "hand on my hip" thing. There's also Pi+Massu+Koyama (hello there Koyapi, not obvious at all), and Shige+Ryo+Tegoshi (who sort of pretend one another do not exist, either that or they filmed it separately). ( 3) Some subbed CMs available for download and I just love Russ-K so much. (4) In this one they're now wearing suits and running around frantically to Summer Time. You get an awesome face from Tegoshi, Koyama and Ryo stripping off their ties and jackets, running past a Shige pigging out (side note, Ryo does a nice jump and he yawns/stretches awwwwww yesiamaryofangirl) and then we get Massu (and the rest of the boys) changing into their Russ-K tshirts in the van. So yes there's flashes of skin but sadly no, Pi's dressed already. (5) The new CM for Russ-K summer adverts. (6) A short making of clip no.5 and you get to see the boys running (all they do) and them jump into a pool = wet!NEWS :]
Now Lawsons CMs. (1) In which the boys find a Lawsons on a deserted island. Yep, makes total sense. (2) It's in Japanese and I have no clue what the hell is going on but ksjfbkh;sfksnh Massu makes the best damn bunny ever. (3) In which NEWS proves they have zero survival skills and would leave Tegoshi stuck in a tree for food (Expected more from you Massu!). (4) Some random advertising for a Christmas blanket that looks really small to me, sure it's not a Christmas table cloth? (5) Pi makes a fire with sticks (oooh ahhh) and Koyama sneezes (fail) while Shige watches (poor dude, can't even get a line in a CM). (6) After multiple playbacks I've decided that at 11pm I WANT SOME DAMN CHICKEN RYO.
And as I mentioned somewhere in the sea of words above, promotions for Kose with Happy Birthday (and here's how creative they are, the promotion is called Happy BATH Day. You're killing me here guys, killing me D:)
NEWS' Concert + Various other DLs
Hoshi wo Mezashite LE dvd : Not much to say because I haven't dled it yet lol. Needless to say I am doing so right now. Um, from what I remember of watching it on YT, you get to see the boys laughing and interacting. And my brain is telling me something about Ryopi and a mirror. Trust me to remember the Ryo and Pi moments.
Touch dvd : Another one I haven't dled or even seen I think. Odds are I won't be dling this one, I really dislike how starved they look in here. I swear, almost all of Johnny's idols could be poster boys for "Feed the Children" campaigns, except it'd be "Feed the Idols" talking about you here Subaru! Anyway, I lied, apparently I did see some of this or at least I saw the Ryo/Uchi scenes before. Ryo admits he is lost without Uchi and can't do anything without that boy. How ironic D:
Never Ending Wonderful Story DVD 1 2 3 4 : This is a MUST WATCH! Like if you plan on following any of my rambling advice, this is one that you have to follow. This is a complete gem for NEWS fans. It follows them on their concert tour around Japan and there are so many behind the scenes goodies and backstage stuff. Just some of the highlights (because I'm pushing to post this damn thing tonight) include the boys dancing during rehearsal (Koyama makes a fool of himself lol and Tegoshi's got some moves y'all, and hello there! Ryo dances half-naked, cam-whore), poor Koyama catches a cold (watch Tegoshi+Shige pay him a visit lol) and the members show something akin to member-ai, and an infamous scene where the boys go to an onsen to celebrate Pi's birthday (Koyama dear, would it have killed you to lower the camera another half-inch?!). The second two discs document NEWS' gourmet tour! At each location they stop at for the tour, a certain member is in charge of treating the members to that region's food (watch some of them be cheap and others show off their wealth). Keep an eye out for Shige who gets stuffed like a pig (dude's got a wide mouth, got to be useful for something that's all I'm saying). Oh right, er, NEWS manages to sing too and hold a concert in midst of all the other stuff they do, aren't they accomplished young men?
Pacific Concert dvd : I love this set of dvds too except the documentary sections really pale in comparison to the one in N.E.W.S. it's just not as good D: Anyway highlights here include a young little girl asking Ryo a question and of course our snarky boy answers masterfully, there's also a fan who gets a special gift from Ryo (adorable sfbjksfsjnklkn), the infamous scene in which Shige loses at cards (thanks to horny!Ryo who displays some leg here btw) and is forced to strip onstage later, and this is the concert where sempai Arashi show up (Sho+Nino) and the twerp kisses Ryo (you'll have to watch it to figure out who I mean by twerp, unless you already know), Massu declares himself a pig and introduces himself as xiao long bao and there's also that MC talk where Ryo shoves Shige's face into the front of his peen pants and it's revealed that healthy young men, such as Pi, Ryo and Shige who are totally not gay for one another discuss x-rated things while eating yakiniku.
Johnny's Countdown Concert 2007-2008 : It happens once every year (hence it's a New Year's Countdown) and this is a serious must watch, as is all countdown cons. Shiny gay fest of JE love! Watch and laugh at Ryo running up and down so he's introduced with both his groups. Then watch and laugh again, at him getting his ass kicked by Jin. Such hate, it's awesome. Arashi hosts this one in their highlighter neon yellow costumes.
Johnny's Countdown Concert 2008-2009 : This year it was held at different places across Japan (Osaka Dome where KinKi Kids were holding their 10th year anniversary concert, somewhere where Tackey held his butai and Tokyo Dome where all the other idols where, i.e. Arashi, NEWS, Kanjani8, Kat-tun, Johnny's Jrs. and HSJ kids). You should watch this because it's always fun to see the guys in JE intermingling, and finally Uchi was also allowed on stage himself (granted he wasn't allowed to even LOOK at the other boys). I do believe there was some really gay!Jun but then again when is he not? Um, there's also some Pin interaction going on. And you get to watch Ryo being frazzled and running around to be in two groups at the same time. I laugh. Hard.
Shounen Club Appearances 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 : The various times NEWS has appeared on SC throughout the years. Links for the first three are pre-suspension and the ones after are therefore post-hiatus. In the fourth link appears the highly amusing and must watch NEWS wo Abake, in which NEWS is blindfolded and asked questions where they reveal the truths about their fellow members, not to worry fangirls, the mikes are altered so their voices are different though that's really bullshit and they know exactly who's talking crap about who. The second NEWS no abake is in the ninth link which is also a veoh streaming link, so no unlocked dl for that one I'm afraid. The fourth link is also NEWS return to SC and it's epic and awesome just because of that, so watch it now. And clip six features Shige stripping, or almost stripping because once again it's Koyama who denies us the pleasure of naked!idols (dude, why so protective?). Clip eleven talks about how much the boys cry I guess real men do cry. Don't remember much of clip 12.
Summer Time Making Of PV : I don't remember if I watched it and I'm too lazy to go find my external HD so I'm told that Massu and Shige are adorable in this. There you have it, two reasons to dl this clip.
Domoto Kyoudai 1 2 : Both of these NEWS appearances are subbed by Baka no Sekai (BNS) subbing team and their LJ community is locked. Please go to their forum and search for the links, I have the MU direct links but I don't like the idea of re-upping something they specifically locked and required membership to download. So don't be lazy guys cos these are some good episodes. It's hosted by the Domoto dudes from KinKi Kids and really these are must watches. If you've seen that clip of Ryo doing his Gachapin impression or if you've ever wondered how he got that nickname, go download this and find out.
Hey!Hey!Hey! Appearances 1 2 3 4 5 6 : These are the subbed appearances of NEWS on the variety show Hey!Hey!Hey! It's really funny and the show is hosted by a duo of comedians called Downtown (one is bald and one isn't? Lol, the other one is kinda short). There's one where two members of Kanjani8 appear (Yoko+Hina so you know it's a funny episode) and they discuss the inequalities of being in NEWS and being in K8. Poor Kansai boys! I love you and this is still not your pimp post. The hosts pick on all the boys and they seem to have an affection for Tegoshi in particular (and you should watch if you're a Tegoshi fan because he gets a lot of spotlight). The first three are links to the full subbed episodes and the last two are links to them performing songs. So other things that happen in Heyx3, despite member-ai being in full bloom, the boys don't really eat together at all. It's usually Pi and Ryo (duh!) and sometimes Shige tags along as well. The others? Fail. There's also that hilarious retelling of where the boys prank Koyama about Pi quitting NEWS, and there's Pi divulging how Koyama acts at karaoke (and a really laugh inducing example from Koyama himself).
Music Fighter : A pretty funny variety episode imo. The boys go on the show and the female host is blindfolded while the boys discuss their plans for a "dream date" with her (of course their voices are masked once again). Lol all of them end up doing activities that if you were to put in fic terms, would be NC-17. Oh yes, you know you want to download this. Not telling who wins but it's not such a big surprise. (Oh and I for one would so pick Ryo, I don't know why you all say his movie isn't romantic :DDD)
Osama no Brunch : A really short interview and lol at Ryo's skills with the lady interviewer, such a smooth operator really.
Sakigake Vegas : NEWS promote Taiyou no Namida and they discuss how old Shige really is.
Utaban 1 2 3 4 5 : Funny and MUST DOWNLOAD. Nakai is the most awesome sempai ever (maybe Taichi too because I love that little man). He makes fun of them and especially Ryo for having a face like the sole of a foot! And honestly, how many people do you think Ryo lets insult him like that? Not many. Anyway the third episode if a gem. It's the awesome shocking!NEWS episode where the boys are forced to sit in chairs and answer trivia questions, if any of the members gets one wrong, they all get shocked and since it's Utaban, they get shocked even when they're right. The last two clips are random short appearances by NEWS and sort of boring so if I were to give you a summary it'd be "zzzz."
Chinchin Puipui : This show is actually based in Osaka and therefore Ryo has appeared on it numerous times with Eito but this is the first appearance with NEWS. Tegoshi reveals something about Ryo and it's supposed to be embarrassing but I find it absolutely adorable once again yes I am the Ryo fangirl.
Zoom In! 1 2 : Um, they promote Weeek and their new album. I sort of tuned out cos it's boring. Second one, I can't remember either lol except the lady makes a mistake and refers to Pi as a HSJ kid lol.
Music Station 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 : Another show with the Johnny boybands make regular appearances on. All they really do it talk for a few minutes, sing and then sit and pretend to be interested in the other musicians unless they really are I can't tell the difference. First one contains two performances, one for Hoshi wo Mezashite, which features Arashi in the same episode. Jun+Ryo interactions (someone write more fics about their bitchy friendship now!) and another with Sayaendo in it as well. Second link they perform Weeeek looking like they're on crack and happy. The third clip is them at MSSL 2007 and I can't quite remember what happens except I think they sing live and suck and Ryo trips over his own feet. Once again, smooth operator. Fourth one features one of two live performances of Taiyou no Namida. This one features wet!NEWS and hot damn they look really good wet (damn Ryo somehow manages to stay dry. Idiot.). Clip six is for Summer Time and I can't remember what happens so blah. Seventh link is for Happy Birthday and it's another boring talk. It's this episode of MS though that Ryo has to appear twice as both NEWS and Eito, so they pester him a bit about that. The eight clip is MSSL 2008 and they sing a medley of Summer Time + Taiyou no Namida + Happy Birthday. Nothing remarkable except Massu's cut his hair for Rescue and Ryo's got his bowl hair because RnK finished filming and because he's a dimwit.
NEWS Fanclub Interview : Ah, another clip I haven't seen before! But based on the screencap there's Kusano and anorexic!Pi and a not so bad looking Ryo.
Countdown TV SP : NEWS does a medley of Weeeek + Taiyou no Namida + Happy Birthday. And it's sort of boring too, NEWS isn't really too good at short talks lol.
Prince 2 Promo : The boys promote their newest album and I haven't seen this either because this was right around the time I sort of fell out of JE fandom and got sucked into DBSK.
