"Sen, shoku" nominated for the 66th Kishida Kunio Drama Award

It was announced on 31st Jan that Shige’s “Sen, shoku” has been nominated for the “66th Kishida Kunio Drama Award”.

Also referred to as the Akutagawa Prize for theatre, the Kushida Kunio Drama Award is one of Japan’s most prestigious theatre accolades. First started in 1955, the award is organised by publishing house Hakusuisha annually and honours new playwrights for their work (published/performed in the previous year).

“Sen, shoku” is one of the nine works shortlisted, and the final selection will be held on 28 Feb.

• Ozawa Michinari “Aurelien no kyoudai”
• Kasagi Izumi “Moscow no umi”
• Kato Shigeaki “Sen, shoku”
• Setoyama Misaki “Kanojo wo warau hito ga itemo”
• Nukata Masashi “Bonyari Blues”
• Hasumi Shou “Ryokan ja nain dakara sa”
• Pink Chiteijin 3 go “Kashi 1832”
• Fukuna Riho “Yawarakaku Yureru”
• Yamamoto Suguru “Banana no hana wa taberareru”

*Setoyama Misaki also happens to be the director for "Sen, shoku", so it's pretty amazing both of them got nominated!
