It was announced on July 23rd that Massu will be starring in a new drama based on a popular manga serialization called “Komi-san wa, komyusho desu (Komi Can't Communicate)”. The drama will air on NHK-G on Mondays at 10:45pm ~ 11:15pm JST starting from September 6th. There will be eight episodes in all, with the script written by Mizuhashi Fumie ("Hotaru no hikari", "Scarlett") and drama directed by Rutou Touichirou ("Ossan's Love").
“Komi Can’t Communicate” tells the story of high schoolers who struggle with not being able to make eye contact and talk with others the way they hope to. Massu plays the role of Tadano Hitohito, a first year high school student who manages to get accepted into his high school of choice, and meets Komi Shouko (Ikeda Elaiza) on the day of their entrance ceremony. Komi is as beautiful as the models fronting fashion magazines, but actually has problems communicating with people...
Massu’s Comment:
This is Masuda Takahisa, who will be playing the starring role in “Komi Can't Communicate”. First of all, Komi-san is so cute! I read the original manga and now I’m a fan of Komi-san. To all the fans of Komi-san, I’ll be playing Tadano-kun! *snorts*
All the characters have such distinct personalities! It is Tadano-kun’s natural gentleness that accepts all of that, and I’ll put in care to act this out.
There are times when you may feel different from the rest of the people in school and have problems fitting in. When you trouble over that, but you are fine just the way you are.
The drama looks to be a kind one that would convey this message! Please definitely watch!
