Microeconomics

Well, if Lawrence Summers says I can't do it, then by golly I'll do it better than he ever did. Pssh, what's World Bank Chief Economist anyways? I'll be Chief Economist of the World! But first, must master my IDL Microecon course. Which is why I'm writing a journal entry instead of doing it...

Today was okay. First hour Madame and I made amends. Basically, she was friendly and I was friendly back. No one could ever be really mad at Madame. And she told me about the Minnesota state legislature's plans to make learning a second language compulsory in Minnesota. That's awesome. I hope they do because being bilingual rocks.

Second hour sucked because when Ms. Landreau chooses not to teach, history sucks. Third hour was a full-fledged gossip session--but when is it not? It's okay because Bridget and I tried to be as generous and fair as we possibly could. And fourth hour--the people in Modern Lit are great but I get really bored in class. And my mind sort of drifts and I lose it.

After school play practice was really long. And then when we finally stepped out of the theatre backstage area, Siri, Franny and I were momentarily blinded by the snow. Like, literally blinded. I don't think I've ever been so blinded in my entire life. It's like Robert and his mother in The Wars...

Volunteering was fun! Sorry you missed it, Paul! I didn't run over any people on the way there, and Amina wasn't there so you didn't miss much. But Sheikh Aden refused to role-play with Abdih because he wanted to do it with a woman! Isn't that funny? He's a pimpin' playa! But it's okay because he is so awesome with his red beard.

Speaking of which, my mother just pulled out a really pretty red blouse. Hmm, perhaps I shall steal it and wear it on a day when I'm feeling extra-red. But now I'm off to prove LS wrong--women can do math just as well as men can. Besides, there's more of us on earth!

By the way, a very funny quote: "But I clearly have no chance. I've shown interest...and Seventeen says that's all I need to do."
