Yay. Thanks for gradually removing everything that was fun and made this site what it is.

Games and Writer's Block made LJ what it is?

Maybe not games. But I always thought Writer's Block was a really good and active feature on lj and I haven't seen it like that on other sites (though I am thinking of suggesting it to dreamwidth).

I agree! Dreamwidth should have something like Writer's Block.

Livejopurnal still has Writers Block, just not on the front page.

+1. If I ever see writer's block on Dreamwidth, I'll be leaving there too.

LoL Games and Writers Block came long after LJ had established itself. I won't miss them.

Well, Writer's Block has been there for all of the years I've been on lj. I will miss it.

So continue to use it, it's still there, just not on the front page.

Having lived through many a "LJ is dead now" and "LJ is out to screw the users" rants so many times I've given up on people being rational (or at least not stupid) about this kind of stuff. I must say i appreciate the effort you're putting to correct the misunderstandings users have about what actually happened. I hope it makes a difference.

People don't want to have to take a few extra seconds to look for it. They want everything to be easily acceptable on the first page. As a child, I was taught that if I want something, I need to put work in to it.

If people want the writers block so badly, they should take the few extra seconds to find the new community and just join. As you said, it's not gone. It's just been moved.
I'm so sick of hearing people complain about how the best thing on LJ is gone. Was it only the best because it was on the front page? lol.

They want everything to be easily acceptable on the first page. As a child, I was taught that if I want something, I need to put work in to it.

That's a great life philosophy, but really bad design and development. When you're designing a site for use, you make everything users want as easily accessible and intuitive as possible.

Agreed. That's how it should be done. I want things to be easily accessible as well. The thing is, people aren't complaining that Writer's block is not easily acceptable. They're simply passing it off as if it's disappeared. People say "Bring back writers block!" But it's still on the site.

What I mean to say is that everyone is having a hiss because it's "Gone" but it's not "Gone" at all. If you really love it, just take the extra two seconds to go to where it is. In the few seconds it took for them to write out a complaint, they could have joined the community.
