glad to hear you guys are backing away from the ads. The popup ads with audio a while back were the worst idea in a long time.

seconded like woah. as someone who frequently got on LJ at libraries and such, it was horrible to get on suddenly be bombarded with loud ads that covered up what I was trying to actually see.

So will accounts be purging all at once, as the suspended accounts were? Or, randomly and at different times?

From the notifications I've been getting, they look to be doing it in increments.

The inactivity script will run permanently from this point forward, if my understanding is correct. So now, it's running through the years and years of backlog, people are getting the notifications, etc.

But even once it's caught up, it will still be checking for the criteria -- once an account has hit the 2 years with no logins and no entries, then it will be notified, then deleted, then purged. So it's not a 'one time only' thing, etc.
