They did nothing when I was harassed for months across dozens of communities.

I'm not going to go further into this, but really now... that's not their job and they've got better things to worry about (such as keeping the site functioning for the thousands of other people who use it on a daily basis). If anything it's the community manager's responsibility to keep their community in order or if they're bugging you in your own journal then you can block them

So if someone gets killed because LJ abuse didn't uphold the ToS, that's okay because everyone can still access the site and time wasn't wasted trying to stop the assholes who were threatening them before it got to that point?

I've been harassed to the point of being suicidal and LJ Abuse did nothing. I told them that I was in that state, too, yet they didn't care.

Wow, that is such a violation of LJ TOS. I can't believe they didn't suspend the user.

I think LJ should just fuck off mentioning anything about bullying unless they actually are willing to be proactive and respond to the complaints.

Yeah, no kidding.

Thankfully LJ Abuse did sort out some issues I was having, but it was not easy to convince them that it was a serious problem. They should have dealt with it much sooner. Also, I was surprised when they suspended an entry made by someone who posted my personal info (ie FULL NAME) on their public LJ entry. But all in all, I agree, LJ Abuse is a joke.

What are some minor things people have been suspended for?

What? How was their life "disagreeable"? They weren't heterosexual and monogamous?

LJ needs to suspend harassers, not people with boobies in their icon!
