Well, there will come a point where what you paid for the permanent account will be less than what you would have spent to maintain a paid account. At that point you're essentially getting paid LJ for free. What more do you want?

Of course not. One or two additional, permanent user pics. At one point users were earning additional pics based on how long they'd been a member, or something, so something along those lines.
