Thank You!!! There was a small typo, so I'm actually the "vamp" that designed the Sunshine, and I'm very happy that you liked it... :D

I sang that song, You are my Sunshine, to him every night at bedtime, so it was an easy choice for the idea, and the charity... The first year that Randy participated in the games at school he loved it - we had mock races up and down the front walk for weeks after that - so it felt like a great choice.

I sang that song to both of my children, every day, until they were in their toddler years. Its kind of got special meaning to me too.

I just want you to know, I just went to your journal and your story absolutely broke my heart. I am so very sorry for your loss Angie. I can't even begin to fathom what you are going through. Moms of special children already have a much harder path, the things thrown in our way, the heartache, the uphill battle, and oh, the triumphs. This makes us stronger than the average bear though. In that I hope that it helps you with your strength to carry on.

I don't know you, but I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. <3

And that just makes the thought behind all your kind words (and the Sunshine vgif you sent), mean even more... Thank You Dawna!!!

I also agree with you about having to be 'stronger than the average bear', and it's a hard level to achieve. We've got to know when to push without making them feel useless, and when to ease up just enough that they know we're not ever giving up, but the triumphs... Yeah, those make everything worth it!!!

Thank you again for your true thoughtfulness, and if you ever need a "special needs" sounding board I'm just a PM away... :)

My grandpa was born on the 3rd, two days after New Years. Mine is December 27th, two days after Christmas. He always loved that I was born one week before his birthday, and called me an early birthday gift.
