We've got important updates for you this week. As promised, we've made significant changes to Facebook and Twitter Connect integration that respond to your privacy concerns. We're also saying goodbye to an old friend (TxtLJ) and introducing a community moderation enhancement. There's a lot of ground to cover today, so let's get started!

Can we log in again from the comment box?

Before you screwed this up, if I got a comment notification and I wasn't logged in, I would have the option to log into LJ completely, and not just for the comment.

If you comment on a post and provide your username and password in order to do it, you should end up logged in automatically so the checkbox was removed (that was one of the changes made last month).

I've seen just a couple of reports saying that it's not working for people - if it's not working for you can you please open a Support Request? That way, we can aggregate browser information or other things and figure out why it's not working sometimes!

Speaking of comments, can you ask someone about tabbing from the comment box? For example, on both the individual comment page and the Javascript quick comment I can tab from the body field to the Post Comment button, I can shift-tab to the Subject field, but going any further in either direction takes you to the top of the page. Prior to the LJ Connect change you could tab forward to the More Options button, and tab backwards to the icon selection dropdown menu.

Oh, ok, thank you!

I'll make note of it next time it happens, especially the browser part. I use a different one depending on what computer I am on (firefox, IE, chrome) and even different operating systems.

Would it be too much to ask that I should be allowed to block the reposting of comments from my own journal, whether by Cyrillic users or not? This detail was not in your earlier announcement, and frankly, it changes the meaning significantly.

Please reconsider this decision. Please consider asking your users before changing their privacy settings unilaterally.

You didn't fix anything. What a big fail at trying to cover it up. What about that brenden staff member?

Start reading your feedback.

Yeah, should is definitely the key word there. It works on Firefox but not on Google Chrome for me.

But I miss the ticky box. Sometimes I don't want to log in to a different account but just make a quick comment under that username. The ticky box gives people the choice, and choice is a good thing.
