Homepage, Remixed, Header design contest, +1
Thanks for the feedback on our last release. We've reviewed your comments and made some key changes to the homepage, which are outlined below. This week, Frank is honoring July birthdays! If you were born this month, send Frank a huzzah and he'll roll you out a red carpet!
Important stuff to know
- Homepage revisited: In response to your input, we've placed Journal Comments and Spotlights back on the homepage and removed the ONTD and Recent Posts widgets. Your suggestions will help guide future changes.
- Remixed contests: We've already received a number of awesome entries for our first Remixed redesign contest, sponsored by Rickshaw Bagworks. All users are welcome to participate. Prizes include a $500 Amazon gift certificate and other great eco-friendly swag.
- +1 ratings: We'd love you to start using the +1 ratings in LJ_Photophile to help us choose photos for our weekly polls!
Thanks to all of you for sharing your talent and for helping us select finalists and a winner for this month's header design contest. Voting on all 13 polls closes on Monday, July 12th, at 3PM, PDT. We'll post a finalist poll next week so you can choose which header will appear on the top of LiveJournal.

Mystery loves company
When we last joined Frank & Meme, they were awaiting renowned forensic pathologist, Dr. Tiger Sagitarius, who pledged to reveal the diabolical villains who killed Alpha D. Stein, Pomeranian at Law.
"Thank you all for coming," Dr. Sagitarius began as he eyed the motley crew, consisting of Frank, Meme, Dr. Nan, Stan Jacquelle, Dr. Fox, and Nurse Chi Wa-Wa. "Seated among you today are three murderers," he scanned the group one by one.
Meme gasped. Dr. Nan jittered, while Frank grabbed a slice of toasted pants from his back pocket. The others sat tight-jawed and clench-pawed.
"You should know that I have now confirmed that both anaphylactic episodes were induced by oyster consumption. This begs the issue of who among you had knowledge, motive, and opportunity to commit this crime."
"Vell, I ate zhe crab! I did not eat zhe oyster, so I am in zhe clear!" Dr. Fox yapped.
"As a celebrity sleuth, I can confirm that Fox's claim is as iron-clad as LiLo's future home."
"Liar!" Nurse Chi Wa-Wa barked. "Given that you are a doctor in this hospital and are engaged to Dr. Nan, who was still married to Alpha and the beneficiary of her estate, it is clear that you had knowledge of the allergy along with motive and opportunity!"
"But I vas dining wiz Nan in plain view vhen zhe fatal poisoning occurred," Dr. Fox replied smugly.
"I agree," Stan jumped in. "Dr. Fox's alibi is tight as my lady of Ga-Ga's fierce abs."
"I believe it's time to call the authorities. If you will excuse me now," Dr. Sagitarius slowly headed for the door.
"Vhat do you mean?" Dr. Fox stood up. Nurse Chi Wa-Wa and Stan followed suit, while Frank, Meme, and Dr. Nan remained still.
"Just as I suspected. Case closed," Dr. Sagitarius pronounced.
"Ahh, I think I understand now," Frank sighed wistfully. "Dr. Fox hired Stan Jacquelle to poison Alpha at the Roar Bar. That is why Stan suddenly appeared on the scene, eager to solve the crime, despite the absence of A-list celebrities."
"But wait, I thought there were two incidents," Meme broke in.
"After Meme saved Alpha at the Roar Bar," Frank continued, "she was rushed to the hospital. Having loved Dr. Nan from afar for many years, Nurse Chi Wa-Wa seized the opportunity to eliminate her competition, hoping to implicate Dr. Fox in the process. After reading Alpha's medical records, Chi Wa-Wa slipped the second, deadly dose of the antigen into Alpha's IV, thinking she could avoid detection. It was the compounded impact of the two events that led to poor Alpha's death."
"Well done, Frank. All that Spam-hunting has turned you into a fine investigator." Dr. Sagitarius opened the door, where officers stood waiting.
"Und ve vould have gotten avay viz it too, if not for you meddling kids!" Dr. Fox growled.
Frank and Meme embraced, exhausted from all the LJ drama. "Baby, I think it's time we take a romantic trip to an all-you-can-eat pants buffet."
