We're thrilled to announce our third header design contest! We received so many brilliant entries that we couldn't pick a winner without you. To keep the good times rolling while we vote, Frank is asking you to put your pedal to the metal. Share a few tender words about your very first bike, and Frank will send you a shiny set of wheels!
Time for another Header design contest!
Once again, we were blown away by the fantastic variety of interpretations. Please choose one design from each group, and we'll run a second poll next week to determine which header will appear on the top of LiveJournal throughout the month of June. The winner will receive a $20 LiveJournal gift certificate. Finalists will be awarded $10 gift certificates. All other contributors will receive $5 gift certificates. (Only one certificate per user.) We'll begin accepting entries for the next header design contest the following week.
Our heartfelt thanks to all participants for sharing your creativity with the extended LiveJournal community!

A two-horned dilemma!
When we last joined our super duo, Meme was torn between taking Frank home from the hospital and checking on Alpha Stein, who had recently suffered anaphylactic shock at the local Roar Bar. Upon reviewing your advice, Meme climbed into a taxi beside Frank, explaining: "I just want to let you know that after I take you home, I must return to see how Alpha is doing. After all, I did save her life!"
Frank stomped his hooves and winced. "I can't believe you'd buy into that lawyer's sleazy dog tricks. She'd roll over and play dead if she could parlay it into a lawsuit." The couple continued to bleat at elevated decibels until the cab zipped up Frank's driveway. "So, do you want to come in or not?!"
Meme sighed. "Well, of course I do, silly." And, just like that, the tension dissipated and the two were snuggling hoof in hoof.
"Why don't you call the hospital?" Frank pouted. "For all you know, Alpha may already be in hot pursuit of another ambulance," he winked innocently.
"Okay, I suppose," Meme chuckled. She rang up Nurse Chi Wa-Wa's station and asked to be connected to Alpha's room.
The phone rang twice. "Alpha Stein's bed," a familiar female voice greeted her.
"Alpha? Is that you? This is Meme, I'm calling to see how you're doing."
"Oh, hello Meme. Actually, this is Dr. Nan E. Goat." Meme gasped. "It's so nice to hear from you again. Such a shocking accident, don't you think? Good thing Dr. Fox and I were eating at a nearby table, so we could get to the hospital right away."
Meme was suddenly overcome by a wave of nausea. "Can I please talk to Alpha for a moment?" She asked in what she hoped was a neutral tone.
"No, I'm afraid that won't be possible right now. Doctor's orders!!" She cooed. "But please be sure to send Frank my best," she clicked off.
Meme feels that something is terribly amiss and would like to go investigate. Frank feels that Meme is overreacting and would prefer to find a more enjoyable way to allay her anxiety. Let them know what you think, and they'll send you over a crafty crustacean to show their gratitude.
Thanks so much for joining us. We look forward to seeing you next week!
