Sometimes I'm kind of a moron.

15F, feels, like 3 (-9C, feels like -16): that's what I like to see, Chicago!

So, the tragic tale of my stupid run-in with a hot stove follows ( thusly. )

we few we happy few, my dumb life, book review

I sent Liz a postcard from Toccoa with that part about Malarkey from Biggest Brother that you quoted there.

Darcy and I walked Currahee.... for maybe a quarter of a mile, lol.

*gives you salve for the burns*

Oh Malark. Have you read his book, by chance? I can't remember if we've already had that discussion or not.

And now I ply you with questions! When were you at Toccoa? What's it like now? Is it a would-be tourist trap?

Thank you. <3

I have it (I bought signed copies for myself and Liz for her birthday) but I can't bring myself to read it. It'll be too draining, I think.

I live about two hours away from both Ft. Benning (the rest of my family lives there) and Toccoa as well, and we have had a few meetups involving both places. I went to Toccoa with Darcy to check it out year before last (I raised money for a commemorative brick to be placed on the walkway there, and we wanted to see it) but we just missed the Reunion weekend. This year, we planned to go, but I couldn't go with the group because I was hung over. LOL. *fails* Oh, and it's not very touristy *at all*. When it's not Reunion weekend, it's practically abandoned. There was no one else out at the site besides us; we missed it driving past the first time. (I can't speak to the Reunion weekend personally, but no, it's not a tourist trap. There's a museum and that's about it.)

It is quite a hard read, true.

Huh! (I imagine Reunion weekends are quite a circus.) Very cool. The brick, I mean, not so much that it's abandoned.
