It is an omen: 2008 is going to be much better. I has a lindensphinx, and lo, it is wonderful! Even despite her awful travel luck, we have already accomplished much, including a visit to the Oscar Wilde-themed bar and restaurant near my apartment, not actually losing my debit card, consuming the first five episodes of Supernatural, getting hottied up and going out (several times, given some adventures with non-present ID and bars closing at 10 on NYE, WTF), and spending the last hour or so of a "let's just get this over with" year at Schubas, where we were chatted up by cute boys, and where for the first time, I had someone to snog at midnight. (His name was Keith, and he was visiting from Wisconsin. Poor guy, there was the impromptu smooch after I asked if he was here with anyone, and then he froze up until he left, twenty minutes later. He apologized, saying he gets really shy around cute girls. See, isn't this year better than 2007 already?)

All in all, I'm liking the odds on this one. Happy New Year, everybody. May it actually be new.
