So! Who wants to hear some more computer woe saga?
So, about three weeks ago, I slipped a disc of Dark Angel into my 2004 Apple PowerBook. I watched the episodes, all was well and good, and then I just sort of kept neglecting to eject the DVD. Cue Millicon, when I would like to make many mixed CDs for people and imbibe the media they have presented to me.
Dark Angel ain't budgin'. The disc comes part of the way out, but it's stuck somehow on the inside, and I don't want to break it. Both the Apple store and the nearest Apple repair dealer tell me that to fix this, they will have to dismantle my laptop and charge me $85. This seems profoundly unfair. I don't have any other options, do I?

Who wants to hear more about LJ drama? I know I do! Or at least, I would like to post these interesting links so I can close the windows.
madsciencechick cannot emphasize enough that LJ does not give a flying rat's ass about fandom. But she does so in, I have to admit, a really spectacularly amusing and effective way -- grabbing us by the shoulders and rattling while she yells.
rivkat would like to point out for the record that HI, little hypocrisy here, popular culture!
gmth wonders if maybe Abe Hassan's recent experience with angry fandom will result in a little peace, love, and understanding. Probably not, but starry-eyed optimism is nice, after all the bile.
