And, in the end... the work you make...

May 26, 2006 15:58

Well, okay. State of the schoolwork: I... could not get everything done. I emailed my profs what I had, with promises to finish each paper, but it can't get done in the next hour. I've been told so many different things about when graduating seniors have to have all their work in, I'm sure something can be fudged -- or I can blame it on my professors not checking their email early enough. There will be time for panic tomorrow, or next week, when I'm not focused on this particular panic. Besides, what I sent in was damn good, and if they can just surmise that whatever else I turn in will be just as good, they can totally divine a grade from that. And it's not like I'm not going to finish them.

So, in the meantime. It has come to my attention that a certain cast member of mine has only a vague, somewhat unpleasant knowledge of the Beatles. This, of course, is heresy. He must be fixed. I mean, he thought "Eleanor Rigby" was a jazz guitar piece, for pity's sake. So, I've made up a playlist, for his edification: 1) Speech: John Lennon ("We were just a band that made it very, very big, that's all.")
2) Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me & My Monkey
3) I Feel Fine
4) Martha My Dear
5) Leave My Kitten Alone
6) Dear Prudence
7) I've Just Seen A Face
8) No Reply
9) Three Cool Cats
10) Drive My Car
11) Got To Get You Into My Life
12) Old Brown Shoe
13) Paperback Writer
14) Helter Skelter
15) Matchbox
16) Eleanor Rigby
17) Because
18) Piggies
19) The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill
20) Hey Bulldog
21) Everyone's Trying to Be My Baby
22) Another Girl
23) Your Mother Should Know
24) Lady Madonna
25) Nowhere Man
26) You Really Got A Hold On Me
27) Besame Mucho
28) Twist & Shout (live, Royal Command Performance 1963)
29) Long Tall Sally
30) A Day In The Life
31) Her Majesty
That should do nicely, I think.

In other news, ruguru has come up with the most astonishingly beautiful photography ever. irisbleu, I think you'll really like it -- you all should have a look, though. Additionally in link-mongering today is FindAGrave.com, in which you can locate the burial spots of all your favorite famous people (and it looks like non-famous too). Yoinks.

More No Exit tonight. Whee! Oh, and did I mention? No, I guess I didn't. There is a new little person in my family! My cousins (by which I mean "we're related but it's complicated") up north had their baby boy, Alexander Geoffrey Sweet, three weeks early! He is doing fine, but my parents went up to help take care of their son Sam, who is the most brilliant baby I've ever known in my entire life. He's not even three yet, and he's just... aaaaah, so scarily smart. But yes, goodness all around! I think I'm going to go into baking and cleaning mode tomorrow for the cast party. This time, the gingerbread will work, dammit!

Oh yes. Yes yes yes yes yes.

5:16 BWAHEE! Email from Redfield, my Dickens paper advisor-thing:On the basis of your first six pages I gave you a "P"; I will say that in 46 years of teaching I'ved never seen it cut quite this close.

You're a good reader and you can write; you have enough ideas here for a paper and I'm sure if you'd given yourself a few days you would certainly have produced one.
Well, I guess there's a first time for everything?
