Aww, I just got this OKC message from a guy: "Given the breathless pace and nimble gait of your profile, I'm very curious to read some of your fiction. Anything short to start me out with?"
Over the weekend and yesterday, not only did I watch both Captain America movies and The Avengers (in order), but I also saw The Losers and Scott Pilgrim for the first time. (On the latter, I still don't know why anyone would ever care about Michael Cera, ever. Ramona Flowers, at the beginning, having no idea why people can't just act normal, is sort of familiar to me. But Chris Evans and Brandon Routh cracked me up no end. And how great is Knives Chau?)
All this CEvans nonsense (I rented* Fantastic Four last night, which I've been watching with cast commentary, even though he's not on it and clearly hated everything to do with those movies) is making me remember
that amazing GQ profile that was the first time he actually fascinated me -- because he has this reputation, I think, for being really sensitive and thoughtful and goofy and self-conscious, but if you think he doesn't also play the Hollywood game and princely well, you're missing the whole picture. (This is also a thing that fascinates me about Tom Hiddleston, who, like Evans, I believe, is completely honest in all his wonderfulness, but also strategic as hell too.)
*And also Hot Tub Time Machine, because I need to see Sebastian Stan carry that film as the villain.
