Skilling says the snow will keep falling like this until Thursday!

One option for this morning was spooning on a couch with an Air Force guy, but instead I woke up with my face next to a pile of socks, wearing a t-shirt my mom gave me: Careful, or you'll end up in my novel.

If your year is supposed to be like how you spent NYE, I'm very excited for 2014, where I was fucking gorgeous and charming and actually had cute boys hanging on my every word like a '30s starlet. The dress was amazing, I did my makeup right, and I had a great time at two whole parties! So, yeah, let's start this year off humble: I know I did. (I also got to 4 AM and found I didn't want to wait for the air mattress situation to get figured out, so another fella actually hailed a cab for me. 2014: I AM A MOTHERFUCKING STARLET.)

And I guess we're doing Yuletide reveals now? I can roll with that. Many, many thanks to
jedi_penguin for my hilarious Bloom County fic And none of that RAP!, and to
eudaimon for my gorgeous Joe/Michelle With History Written Boldly on His Face. You both made my Christmas exceedingly excellent! ♥

As for myself, I just want to say that I was struggling with what to actually write when I got my assignment. I thought I'd try out all of the other fandoms requested that I could, but if the entire Sherlock fandom couldn't rustle up a copy of The Voorman Problem, it looked like my options were a little more straightforward. I'd never seen The World's End before, but as soon as I did, I sort of sat back and went, "...huh. This looks like a problem Flora Poste could handily solve."

Which means I am responsible for The Untidy Lot, a Cold Comfort Farm/The World's End crossover for
innie_darling that was hideously fun to write.Cousin Amos straightened his placards, which the producers hadn’t seen fit to make him remove, presumably for added medieval authenticity and color. “In Heaven, there’s only the way in through the front gate, but as with the fiery pits of Hell, here there lie many side doors that not even the righteous guard and that the devils open wide to lure ye with sweetmeats and jellies and pies.”

Much later, they discovered that Amos could be spotted in crowd scenes for at least twenty-two pictures, from a desert souk to a racetrack to a Russian royal court (wherein he’d interrupted the young Anastasia’s climactic monologue with a hymn about demons skinning, spitting and seasoning your flesh). He received two dollars and a buffet lunch for his time, which allowed him to keep himself in fresh acrylics and gasoline for his real mission.
Endless thanks to
adiva_calandia,
ladysingsthe and
e_clare for their completely heroic betas, without which this story definitely would have fizzled out about a thousand words sooner.

Happy January 1st, all! I think I'm going to make myself tea and find S2 of Being Human UK, since I finished the first series last night (finally!) and promptly flailed all over my living room. There's a lot of fine snow that's been falling continuously since yesterday afternoon, which means going outside... eh, maybe not today. :-D
