Zombieland: Field Greens -- "Ain't there no goddamn tea left?" Tallahassee said as he stuffed a dandelion leaf in his mouth and grimaced. "We're eatin' salad like fuckin' rabbits, there is no ranch dressing out here to hide the taste, and we are not-even-figuratively waiting on our garden to grow. This sucks."

Spirited Away: The Emissary -- Long after Chihiro has grown up, she finds the. coolest. way. to bridge the spirit world and her own. This is so original in its framing, and just. Oh gosh, Chihiro, you are just the best.

Parks & Rec: Bloomington -- A really great look at Ann, and her love for Leslie, and for Pawnee, and getting away from both of them for a little while.

50 Shades of Grey: Three Shades of Steele -- Using magic to fix, challenge and explain a whole lot of what goes on in this universe. Starts off kind of silly, but tackles some of the really big questions of what is, arguably, really terrible writing.

Hobbes & Bacon: "Worked okay so far?" -- Just as much about Calvin and Suzy as their offspring.

Finnish Mythology: All the Old Knives -- Man, I know nothing about these stories, but this one is really ferocious and old-feeling and great.

Better Off Ted: The Unicorn Project -- Because Viridian Dynamic would try and build a unicorn to improve their polling with 6- to 10-year-olds. Totally perfect voices throughout, especially Veronica's.

Invisible Cities: Invisible Citiez -- Autocorrect meets Calvino. I'm pretty sure he'd love it. A related excellent discovery:
ilpolo!
  • Side note: all the Invisible Cities works are worth a look. I am group-reccing them.
