Three more recs from the Histories Ficathon at
thisengland, in addition to
Kate Percy and Doll Tearsheet share a pint and shake their heads:
Is There Not Employment? posits a different explanation for Hal and Falstaff's errant companions. You may never look at Bardolph with quite the same dismissive eye again.
Unmasked, in which Falstaff wants to be a superhero, just like the Bull or the Monarch.
Strong Infection, in which a zombie apocalypse is all Richard's fault, and yet somehow everyone... kind of comes out better for it. I love, love what the author does with the Percys: the dynamic is just so mmf. Not to mention the Richard/Bolingbroke, which has lines to go with it like these:I could have loved you more than them all, says Richard's silence.
I love you more than those to whom I should give it all, says Henry's.
Very grimdark, but also very satisfying.
